You are getting a loan with your income tax return as collateral. That loan will be full of hidden charges a high interest rate that will be called something else and large fee for giving you the money ahead of time and also a fee for filing out your tax paperwork. They can check to see if you have a reason that the refund will be held IE child support or owing taxes. You return will be mailed to them and you will have to go to them to get it. There is no risk to them and they are getting you to pay for this no risk loan. Unless you are facing foreclosure, homelessness or death tell these people NO. Wait for your W2 and file for free or at a low cost through the Internet. You can get your money in your bank account in as little as three days but it normally takes a week. Stop giving you money away.

Cece gives an almost perfect answer. In fact, federal returns filed electronically, and accepted by Thursday of each week will be processed for refunds on the Friday of the following week. So it can take 8-15 days to have your money deposited directly into your bank account. States can, indeed, be as little as three days.
You can file at low or no cost via www.irs.gov. Just click on the FreeFile icon. That service is available from January 12th.
