i've been paying taxes for the past 10yrs,how do i go by getting the property

Is it in a trust, from which you get the income? If so, the only way to get the assets is if the trust deed allows payments of principal.
This should never, ever be undertaken without proper advice from an attorney and CPA or Enrolled Agent.

The question that must be answered is how the property is held. If it was in the name of the deceased party and they did not have a will you still must probate the estate. That is not something that you can do without the assistance of an attorney.
