Maybe I'm just naive and live in spoiled southern California, but is it just true from my personal observation that these business are too saturated, not profitable for beginners and don't need more competition?

1. Publishing (books, flyers, magazines)
2. record labels
3. Button making
4. t-shirt printing
5. webstores & startups that never get pass the local community
6. Restaurants
7. Retail office supplies, computers
8. Computer repair
9. Interior design
10. web design

If so, what are some other businesses that are too many out there and would not need more? If not, what are places that'll welcome these businesses in demand?

My wife wants to open up a salon. But neither of us have expirience running a business. Im primarily the one who pays the bills in the house so Im not to worried about risking our future (or should I be?). How do we go about starting she just graduated beauty school, what is the next step. What kind of loans or start up costs should I be looking at? Any advice is appreciated.

Ive herd they do yet millions of people use it daily. ive herd that they can use your credit card number to steal thousands from people. Is it true????? I want to sell somthingg on ebay but i need to make a paypal account first.

1st jan 2006 $20000 opening bank account, from that brought truck $16000. $48 cash in truck $350 inventory in truck. paying salary to himself each mnth $2000. invoices paid to suppliers total$25296. operating expenses (truck) $1828. one unpaid invoice of $254, truck has 5yr depriciation, june 30th bank account is $11110... i have tried and tried im not understanding where to calculate the revenue... PLEASE HELP. i assume that he has earned $7110 to get that amount inhis bank.. though are wages an expense due to taking it out of the business?? do i add the $11110 to his profit/loss..

I was wondering if I would be able to get a grant at 17.

I would use the money to start a small video production company.

I've already started and gotten paid for get togethers, birthday parties, etc.

I'm know that the government doesn't just give away money. But next year I'm starting college...and what I'm doing now pays more than working at McDonald's or something like that.
So if I could get better equipment by then I could work thru college without struggling so hard.

I need someone with real management skills or who owns a business to help with this one, please. My husband and I own a restaurant and recently hired a new manager. In cooperation with my husband, I trained this person but am primarily responsible for managing him. When I find him doing something incorrectly, I will correct him. Within minutes, he goes to my husband to complain about what I did. I have managed people for years and have developed a relatively good management style but I have never had this type of thing happen. It's like he's a child and trying to get what he wants by going to Dad because Mom said no. Any ideas on how to handle this?
