Hi! I am the CEO of a small (for now) business in Louisville, KY. I am reading "Guerilla Marketing" and am looking for creative ideas for how I can better market our business. We are in the specialty packaging and shipping business. We ship all of the super fragile, awkward, large, and valuable items no one else wants to handle. There's a method I've heard of in which Partner A offers Partner B a price for Partner B's ownership. Partner B has to either: 1) find a third party to make a better offer (which Partner A has the right to beat); 2) accept the offer; or 3) can force Partner A to share A's ownership for the price A offered B. So if A owns 60% of the business and wants to buyout B who owns 40% and offers B $400, B can buyout A for $600. The result is the partner seeking to buy out the other makes a fair offer. Does anyone know what this method is called? I thought it was a Texas Showdown, but I can't find anything in Yahoo Search that matches that.

They say they are going to specialize in obituaries since people die all the time they figure that if they will have alot of business. No joke. They asked what I thought, I think its a good idea (they do good work from what Ive seen). Does anyone know about this type of business?? What would be a good way for them to drum up STEADY business for a consistent second income.

My wife is a stay at home wife who makes extra income on the side by selling website designs. Last year, she made close to $20,000. This year, on our taxes, when we report it, are we going to get taxed MORE if we report it as supplamental income or should she just get a DBA (Doing Business As) and report it as a business (and file seperately)? We live in Oregon and want to not pay an arm and a leg in taxes. Thanks! :-)
