Small Business - January 2007

I have always worked for myself. I recently came across this company through a person who is high up in the company. I was directed towards http://vivamonavie.com and http://www.brighart.com. I am looking to create another business to add income for now and the future.

Does this look like a good choice?

It seems like they have the backing, product, and public 3rd party testimonials and its already heading international?

Thanks for any input.

If you buy a light from Fred Bloggs Co. then take all their labels off, put it in a different box, sell it onto a customer as your companys (Jim Bloggs Co.). Is this fraud? Or once you've paid for the goods you can do what you like with them?

You always read things like 80%, but where is this statistic coming from? Can this be found on-line somewhere? I ask, because it's such a common statement and I'm wondering if it has any real basis in fact. A quick search around the web and I find people using 70%, 75%, 80%, 95% and the generic, "Most." The truth is out there somewhere. : )

My husband is a veteran and full-time student at a major university. He doesn't have the time to work, so I have to pick up the slack. I'm a stay-at-home mom and want to keep it that way, so I'm trying to start and online business, I have pretty much everything in place (suppliers, domain, ein, etc...) but I need funding. Instead of a list of places with grants listed in them, does anyone have a link to a specific grant that I qualify for or a loan that doesn' have to be paid back right away (like maybe delayed a few years with subsidized interest). I'm in Texas. Please send specific grants or loan because I already know the different sites to search, I've just had no luck finding one I'd qualify for, maybe I'm just missing it.

So, my partner and I have our EIN number. Just no articles of incorporation. We faxed the paperwork to the appropriate number which is the last instruction that we got. We told the state the percentages owned, etc. and now need to open a bank account. Can't do that without the articles of incorporation... How do we get them? Make em up and submit them to the state? Wait for them to be sent to us? We used an online company to incorporate us, so we don't have an attorney to ask, just thought someone here might know.... Thanks if you do!

I have recently started a new job. They are a growing company, with 5 men in the office and me. The thing is, they have no proper procedures. Everything is so unorganised i am suprised they make any money! I really want to impress them and help get the office running smoothly but i don't know where to start. What make the perfect procedure and how do i get them to listen to a female?? Any links would be helpful, any successful directors or managers who can give me advice would be welcomed too. I wanna make it to the top!
