I have enrolled in the Russ Dolby program and am of two minds about it:1) That with careful preparation, one could make $2k/month working 10 hours a week; 2) That this is sham and that people do not do well in it. I am looking for valid insight.

I am a 6 Sigma Master Black Belt. 6 Sigma is a statistical methodology that focuses on making decisions based on data. I want to start a consulting business that helps small businesses cut their costs using 6 Sigma methodologies. What would be the best approach to letting small businesses find out about my services. I propose to charge based on a percentage of the 1st year's savings to the client (ie 30%) of total savings. I am certified in Project Management and Training of 6 Sigma. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

What books would you suggest that I read for starting a consulting business. My focus will be doing seminars and workshops on topics such as: Preparing and following a business plan; How to prepare to ask for money to help your busniess grow from a Bank; Pit falls starting your business, and pit falls to avoid when your business finally takes off, etc.

I have 5 employees at my pc shop I hired early this past fall who are paroled prison inmates from a medium security prison and trying to get their lives on track (their crimes range from dui to armed robbery of liquor/convienience stores)

Recently I have become the target of protest by christian orginizations because I hired these individuals meanwhile since their release from prison none of them have done even the smallest thing to arouse police suspicion and invoke arrest by the local police dept

I'm catchin all kindsa hell from christian groups who constantly protest outside my shop and I run a small pc repair shop in ohio

I don't want to fire these individuals that are working for me because they are some of the best employees I have ever had and are really doing well on this 2nd chance but the christian groups are making it hard for customers to come to my shop

What would you do in this situation I need to know and the city council and local police dept are no help???

I'm about to write a business plan, and would like to know each of the headings I should cover in my business plan. I'm not using it for a bank loan, just for my own personal use.

Many thanks, Chris

Ok, I know there are basically two processes out there when it comes to putting print and designs on clothing....silk screening and thermal transfer paper.....I've tried using those HP iron-on papers before and didn't have very good luck. I also didn't like the feel of the shirt....too plasticy feeling. I guess my only option is silk screening.....we want to make tank-tops, and cotton shorts with printed material.....
The biggest problem is we don't have a lot of money.....I've seen sites like cafepress.com, and even that seems too expensive to do any large qauntity of shirts.....
What are our options for getting started? thanks

I'm looking for 100 answers to this question if I could. An example could be that change must start at the top, but this belief may be toxic because employees assume that they can't influence the company's business model or strategy. Thus, they withhold their full engagement and passion - essential ingredients for continual organziation renewal.

I'm going out on my own and starting my own business. Now is a good time since I no longer have any clients (since I have a 6 week old) so it won't be a conflict of intrest to leave and start my own business. Anyway . . . I plan to offer many services for new and expecting mothers. From childbirth education to post-pardum care, newborn care, lactation consultant, baby-wearing, a whole range of things. Any hopefully I can find another mom or two to help teach the things I'm not familiar with (such as cloth diapering, and raising a healthy vegan, ect) I want a name that I can use for my email and website so it needs to be rather short. I thought of mommys helper but it is already taken. Any ideas?
