Ok, I know there are basically two processes out there when it comes to putting print and designs on clothing....silk screening and thermal transfer paper.....I've tried using those HP iron-on papers before and didn't have very good luck. I also didn't like the feel of the shirt....too plasticy feeling. I guess my only option is silk screening.....we want to make tank-tops, and cotton shorts with printed material.....
The biggest problem is we don't have a lot of money.....I've seen sites like cafepress.com, and even that seems too expensive to do any large qauntity of shirts.....
What are our options for getting started? thanks

Call around to local printers in your area, depending on how many you need most of them give a quantity discount as well.

You may check with local magazine stores and look for magazines such as Business Opportunities Magazine, etc., There are several which cater to the small and home based businesses. I have seen small silk screen printers for a small amount of money. You may also find a local printer who will wholesale the shirts to you, if it is something which you will resale. There are also specialty printers who only sell wholesale to direct sales people. All you need do is make the sale and send everything to the printer and let them finish the work.

Why don't you try applying for a small business loan. There are so many programs out there today, and I am sure you could get one. Starting a business is hard, but it can pay off big time for you. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a very prosperous new year!
