simple enough question. Also I don't understand why shops would close on new years day, doesn't make sense to me... thanks for the answers though

My local store is open.
Wed-27-Dec-06 8am - Midnight
Thu-28-Dec-06 24hrs

Sat-30-Dec-06 Midnight - 10pm
New Year's Eve 10am - 4pm
New Year's Day 10am - 4pm
Tue-02-Jan-07 8am - Midnight
Wed-03-Jan-07 24hrs

They are open today. The only days they will have a full close down for is Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. I used to work for them.


Although I don't understand why people would want to shop on New Years Day, or the panic around shops being shut for a few more hours over the festive periods. Its not like people don't buy enough food in to cover the time.

I dread to think what our ancestors must think of our throwaway culture. There was a time when shops didn't open on Sundays and closed half day on one a day during the week to allow workers to go to the markets etc. If they tried to do that now there would be outrage.

sure sure sure. Tesco might open popular in the event that they might. the only 2 days interior the full 365 days they close are : EASTER SUNDAY and yule DAY. relax of the days its employer as widely used. Tesco is merely grasping.They wanna make money and extra money.they have killed the close by shops,be it paper shop or grocery or wine shops.

Tesco Express stores are open, but the big stores aren't, presumably cos they've got too much money & can afford to miss a day's business, & inconvenience the rest of us!!!

3 days to answer our question here, why not check your Tesco website? why not wander down the road and see if the car park is full or empty? doh
