Very beneficial, even for a service company. I have a client who is a massage therapist and he sells lots of gift cards, especially at Xmas and Valentine's Day.

Loyalty cards (like a punch card, buy 10 get one free) are also incredibly valuable. Not only do they bring people back when they have other options of where to go, but they also reward customers for shopping with you. And that's something that everyone can appreciate.

loyalty programs are the future marketing agenda. Its cheaper to attain regulars than going out and getting new ones, plus your regulars pay off in advertisement.

Gift cards - benefits to both the consumer and operation.

Look at your states - some states like california - although gift cards have expiration dates - all companies have to accept expired gift cards (so if its a chain don't throw out those gift cards )
