I am a career accounting professional who is thinking about starting my own bookkeeping firm in Southern California. I don't know if bookkeeping firms charge their clients by the hour or if they instead charge a flat monthly rate. We will do all facets of bookkeeping except for preparation of income taxes. If professional bookkeeping firms charge by the hour, then how much? If they charge a flat rate for full service bookkeping, then how much?

I make all my jewelry and bead other various things. Everything I make I have many compliments of how beautiful and such. This is an at home business with 4 kids. I have an idea to go to local shops on consignment but not sure how to do this or just start visiting friends and setting up tables at fairs and such. What do you think would be best. I'm looking to open a small lounge with a couple of 1-2 pool tables, 5-10 computes, a couple of tables and sell drinks and make coffee/tea but nothing alchoholic.(except beers). What kind of licenses do I need to have and permits? I know I need a EIN to employ workers and also need insurance and obviously a place to have the lounge. If its possible please explain in your own words instead of linking me to other sites, I kinda want someone with somewhat of a hands on expierience with this type of situation. Thank you.

I haven't decided if I want to sell pets or just pet supplies. Probably just supplies since I hate to see animals going to anybody who can afford them. There aren't any places like this in my town. If you want pet supplies you have to get them from Wal-mart :( I'm sure it would do well, I just don't know anything about starting a business.

Tips would be good, also any websites about this type of thing.

Thanks
