I haven't decided if I want to sell pets or just pet supplies. Probably just supplies since I hate to see animals going to anybody who can afford them. There aren't any places like this in my town. If you want pet supplies you have to get them from Wal-mart :( I'm sure it would do well, I just don't know anything about starting a business.

Tips would be good, also any websites about this type of thing.

Thanks

Most people would say you need to do a business plan and yes you should do a plan but look for a location that is by a park where people tend to take their animals to run and play. Also ask your friends what kind of pet supplies they would buy for their animals. Also make sure that if you are selling animals that you are within the guidelines of the law. Check with your local SBA center they can help you with the business aspects.

Have you considered an online pet site instead of a bricks and mortar place? You can have the entire world as your potential clentelle instead of just your neihbourhood.
