I need to calculate postage and don't have any right now but I want to be able to print the label out tonight. Does anyone know how much they weigh?

I'm talking about the weight of the atual BOX ITSELF. . .I want to weigh my paper, then add so much for the weight of the box to get a total weight.

About 4 ounces or 1/4 of a pound

Bostonian is right--it's not the size of the box but what you put in it that determines the weight. What also determines the postage cost is the location to which you are mailing it.

Priority mail does offer a new option though. It's flat rate shipping and is based on the size of the box. Before you can use it though, you have to have the special Priority Mail flat rate boxes.

There are two sizes of Priority Mail flat rate boxes. One box is 11" X 8.5" X 5.5". The other box is 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8". The postage is $8.10 for any weight (up to 70 pounds) and any state. If you don't have a postal scale to weigh your packages and you ship a lot, you might consider using these.

It weighs whatever it weighs. There is NO WAY to tell how much it weighs without putting it on a scale!

If it's a box of feathers it might barely weigh a pound. If it's a box of lead, it could weigh over 100 pounds.

If you don't have a postal scale, you'll have to take it to the post office to get it weighed.
