he and I have lived in a cottage he since 2001 and I when i married him since 2007. WE , sincei movedin pay 50$ extra rent sincei movedin. There was a couple living here before us that piad less. Anyway. I told the landlord we bought a house and would be moving out in the end of November she said the cottage we live in was for one anyway and that my husband willhave to restore the walls back to it original colour which is white they are neutral brown now( although she stated he could paint them any colour he wanted). He really wants his deposit back and she has not been the best landlord i.e.( heatwent out and we waited 2 and half weeks to have it fixed, septic goes out and we had no toilet on many occasions for as much as 3 days) He has done alot of major improvments to this cottage... he is afraid she is being sneaky and wants to give her 150 ( for rent)since he doesnt think she will give us our deposit back. What grounds do we stand on as tenants?

I have been renting an apartment for about 6 months, and with the price of the rent is included 1 covered parking spot.
Now the parking spot that I have has sprinklers aiming water at my car twice a day everyday. The city's water is kinda hard so it started leaving build ups and altering the paint on my brand new car on the side where the sprinklers hit.
So I went and asked them to find me another parking spot, I didn't mind waiting for someone to move out to take theirs, but they told me they wouldn't and that I could park somewhere else in an uncovered spot if I wasn't happy.

I don't think that's right....my car is being damaged and they don't want to do anything to fix the problem. And I try cleaning it but it won't come off...

Is there anything I can do, is there a law or something I could bring to them? I'm in California...

thanks

We have a £69,000 mortage on our 3 bed Victorian Terrace.

We hate the area we live in and desperately want to move bnut we will not be able to raise any additional funds or a bigger mortgage as only my partner is working right now and he's on a very low income (£11,500 pa). We won't make much out of selling our house as its not in great condition and we only bought it in 2005 so prices haven't gone up that much.

I've seen some lovely shared ownership houses in a nicer area for £60,000 (you get a 40% share for that).

How does this work? Could we "move" the mortgage we have to the new house? And if we owned a 40% share would we then have to pay rent for the 60% we don't own? Presumably the other 60% is owned by a Housing Association so the rent would not be too high.

And advice gratefully received as I desperately want to leave the area we live in now.

I have a friend that works as a exotic dancer.
She's a student by day and dance at night.

She told me that she'd like to move to a new apartment complex,
but to move into a apartment,I would think that she would need paychecks!
As a dancer you only receive cash and it's not "on the paper".

What is her options?

She makes enough money, but she doesn't have any paychecks to prove it...?

My husband and I are looking for a house and it's only been 3 weeks, but it is very stressful We have a realtor, but we're looking online for houses ourselves, then driving by the houses to see if we like the locations first before we request a showing. We're getting frustrated because we can't seem to find what we want in a house. We keep getting our hopes up only to see the house in person and find it's not as it appeared on the website. Does anyone have tips? Do we just need to be patient?

We live in a 1500sq.ft. ranch. No basement, 3bdrms, 1.5 baths, liv. rm., eat in kitchen, dining room (currently used as a family room). We have a single car garage which we are talking about converting into another room. Three walls are already drywalled, we would be replacing the garage door with a 4th wall and a decorative entry door and window. Then, we will be building a shed in the backyard for storage. We only plan to be here 3 more years. Generally speaking, would this investment increase or decrease the value of our home?

My sister and I got a year lease that started on August first when we moved away to college but need to move back home. There are a few problems with the apartment(maintenance problems that have been brought to the attention of the landlord, but has not been fixed, horrible ant problem, security gate broken since we moved in) but those aren't the reasons we want to end the lease, we want to leave December 1st. Please any suggestions!
