Your landlord was legally obligated to put his name on the lease after 2 weeks. This is now his legal residence and he has as much of a right to it as you do. You can't legally do anything to make him uncomfortable (turning off the heat, etc), so best to just suck it up and get on with life.

This is the real world, you entered into a legally binding relationship (roommates) and now have to deal with the consequences.

You should talk to your landlord about moving and what he would require of you to do that.

If you both live in the unit, the landlord can require you to both be on the lease. You can't just pull your name off without the landlord's consent. The landlord has no reason to do that, as it gives him one more person to go after if the rent is unpaid or if the property is damaged.

You've signed a legally binding contract. Your name (and his) stays on it until it expires.

What's more, since both names are on the lease, you both have a full and equal right of occupancy for the term of the lease. You can't do anything legally to have him removed unless he is being violent towards you. If that's the case, get a restraining order. Even with that, you'll still both be legally obligated for the full term of the lease.
