We live in a 900 square foot 2 bedroom house. The current layout is this - You walk in the front door into the living room. From the living room, you walk into the dining room, and from the dining room to the kitchen (these rooms are all one in front of the other in a straight line, with the kitchen being at the back). There is a hallway off of the dining room off of which are the bathroom and 2 small bedrooms . We are thinking about adding onto the back of the house (25 to 30 feet) - making the kitchen bigger, making a family room and master bedroom and 2nd bathroom (the kitchen extension and the family room would line up with the present kitchen), but would it seem wierd to have to walk through the kitchen to get to the addition which would accomodate the family room, master bedroom and 2nd bathroom (the doors to the bedroom and bath would be off the family room)? Would this layout affect the resale value of the house negatively? Help please! Thanks in advance!

I'm thinking of selling my home for not less than $250K and buying one for $275K. My current mortgage has $164,145 outstanding. I bought my current home for $215K. Is there some formula I can use to figure out how much I need to finance. I also want to pay off $24000 in credit cards and keep about $4000 for a rainy day. I need to pay for moving and closing costs also (I'm in CT). The taxes on the new home would be $3410. Anybody know how to figure this out. Never was any good at stuff like this.
Thanks in advance

I have a manufactured home that I've been in for about 4 years now and I'm looking to get out of the mortgage and the rent agreement. It's only worth $17000 and I just want to get rid of it but I don't know how. Can someone shed some light on this situation for me please.

We built a house 4 years ago and now we're selling to move to another state. My relo person said I need to forward the 'abstract of title' to the lawyer... that's fine but do I even have one since this is new construction? I'm the only owner of this house, ever...

Also - is the deed to the house the same thing as an "abstract of title" ?

*as you can see I'm very confused.... thanks.

shortly before my husband and I met, he purchased a condo with his mother as a cosignor. (he didn't have bad credit, just not enough - he was 23 at the time) Now 3 years later we want to sell, but his mother thinks we should stay where we are. Do we legally need her involvement to sell the condo? We've only been married 4 months, and I am not on the mortgage.

We just purchased a home and discovered over the weekend that we do not have all of the storm windows and the ones that we do have do not fit. We feel upset that we weren't aware of this before purchasing the house. It was not disclosed in the truth in housing report. Any ideas on how to move forward or is this something that we just have to live with? We are hoping that we can get some money back as now we will have to replace the windows much sooner than we planned.

I have a 3 bedroom duplex for rent. The problem is I am having a hard time finding someone who is able to afford it. Its $1500.00 per month with all utilities included, also, cable and wirless internet. It has 2 full baths, washer/dryer, frig, microwave, private parking, yard, walk in closets and walk in attic for storage. Its located in a very quiet country setting. Do you think im asking to much? What advise can you give me. Thanks

I accepted their offer, and am scheduled to close November 2, but the buyers are from another state, and looking to move here. They don't have a job, but she's a nurse, so I don't doubt that she'll get a job quickly.

After 5 months of no shows, I'm really excited about this offer, but uneasy about the no job thing. The no job means no mortgage loan. If she doesn't have a job by November 2, can I lease them the property? And will their offer to buy still be valid? I guess all that is negotiable, but what do you think?

We are dealing with a landlord who has not provided a lease and are concerned that not having one affects our rental history, which in turn will hurt our credit history, when we decide to buy a house in the future. We would like to use this argument to convince the landlord to provide a lease, among many other reasons.

My wife and I live in the Dallas, TX area and are thinking about possibly buying a condo or house, and have several questions. We both are young 24 and 22, and have good credit. We don't have too much saved, so we wanted to know what we should consider when thinking about buying a condo or a home? Is either one better? One concern we do have is bottom line how much house/condo can we afford based on what we currently make which is about $3000/mo (We're both still in school). Currently all our bills total about $1800. I've heard about FHA or first-time buyers programs. Also, I've heard credit unions are good for loans as well. So, after deciding how much we can afford, what do we do from there? Thanks for any info.

This is my problem. I listed my house with donati real estate for about a year. they couldn't sell my house so i asked my agent that I want out from their contract and going with century 21. he said you can go ahead there will be no problem. so now i am with century 21 & my house is in contract. Now this Dontai agency came back from dead & want commission too. They are threatening to come on the closing table & want me to pay him too.
I am already selling the house very cheap just to get rid of it & there is not much money going in my pocket if I have to pay them then I'll have to pay them from my own pocket.
I asked this question before, But I need to scare this sleazy guy.

Please Help if anybody knows any thing about this & where can i complain.
Thanks

The attorney sent me some papers to release the Judgement lien because they are in the middle of selling the foreclosed property. They are offering me $300 to sign. It seems like they want to buy me off but the amount to me seems unjust. What should I really be doing with this judgement lien and what can I get them to offer me to release it?

Started out it had a Auction sign in the front Yard, then it has a FOR SALE BY OWNER sign in the yard, then It had a FOR SALE by owner Owner Financing sign in the Yard, Then it had a River Valley Sign in the Yard, Then it had a Lease sign, Then a REMAX sign. Even after they had moved in the REMAX sign stayed in the yard well then His Wife told me they were giving 80,000 for it. Well its a nice house we thought. But They started out to pay 699.99 a month then it was 799.99 then 810 then the contract was drawn up it went to 860 a month then to 924. We had the lights turned on and then some thing happened and the electric company came out and pulled the Light Meter said the wiring was below code for our town the Bills were running to high we found out it was a fire hazard. Then while I was there waiting with the Electric company I find out the thing has 9 layers of Shingles. Which will not pass HUD inspection. My son is buyer his wife is CO-Signer the guy will only talk to my sons wife >

Having gone through the rigours of getting permanent residency in Great Britain twice, it is pretty damn discouraging to see nonresident Americans swanning around.....living it up in grand flats.....whilst I almost cannot afford to exercise my right of residency.

I say almost because unless I can land a Council flat or something within a housing trust I will not be able to continue to live in London.

I am not amongst those from the States who on big salaries are enjoying the Lambeth walk. I earn piecemeal (so there Juliette Binoche); and not very much piecemeal. AND I ONLY earn piecemeal when the crows stop foraging.

So you add it up.

Disgusting!

Okay we`re not all key workers. But shouldn`t the Mayor underwrite housing for all Londoners (and I MEAN Londoners) and also keep the devellopers at bay? Otherwise it`ll all be housing for the overseas visitors (from the Emirates. America, China, etc)

What to say to the insurance company? Will companies even insure it? We'd be getting a loan for $40,000 is that all the insurance that would be needed on the house? Oh, I have so many questions... See we want to buy an abandoned house & fix it up but I know the mortgage company is going to most likely make us carry home owners insurance. But I'm not sure how much & what to insure because the house is just the shell & bare studs at this point.
