Could someone buy a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house for 150,000-200,000 dollars? (imagine that I had this kind of cash on hand) And not have any morgtage. If so where (in the general sense, I'm not looking for a particular house as of yet).

What I'm really looking for is your opinon on how realistic it would be to buy a house for that price and if it's possible. What state in the US would be best, (because I know houses and land are cheaper in some places)

Property in CA. I was not given proper 30 days notice that the tenant wanted to move.

Can I hold pro-prated rent even if they aren't living there anymore from the deposit? Or do I tell them that they need to give 30 days notice and are responsible for rent until the end of the 30 days, if not it will be deducted from thier deposit

I recently moved to PA and signed a three month lease from June thru August 2007. In august I sent a letter to the apartment requesting to extend the lease another six months, they verbally accepted the extension. We did not sign a new contract, even though I verbally requested to do so.

I recently decided to move out and gave 45 days notice. The landlord wants me to pay a 2 month penalty per the lease for early termination.

I told the landloard that I would pay the rent thru 11/30/07 when I move out and gave the 45 days notice (30 are required).

I stated that since we did not sign a new contract when the lease expired in August, I was following the part of the lease that said if the tenant does not move out at the end of the lease it automatically renews for the same period as the origional (3 months -ending 11/30/07)

My question is; Is the letter I sent requesting to extend the lease leagally binding? or is the arguement that I made above legitimate?

Our contract with the builder states a close date of Dec. 11,2007. They haven't touched the lot to this date. I spoke with the contruction supervisor today and he gave me the inside scoop. He said he has never built a house in less than 57 days and it usually takes apprx 77 days. He told me it is not likely they will meet that close date. We did not renew our lease on our apt. and we only got until Dec. 30, 2007 before we have to be out of here. We will have no place to go. We could ask to go month to month on our apt. , but that will almost positively be more per month than our regular rent. I would like to set a fire under the builders *** to get them motivated. I have been deligent about asking them when it was going to be started and they have never given me a decisive answer. What recourse do I have in this situation other than canceling the contract? I really want the purchse to go thru, but how do I make it happen within the time frame outlined in the contract?

The loan and home will stay in my name but she will pay part of the payment until she gets on her feet and can pay all the payment. Do I have to claim these partial payments as income on my taxes? If I must claim the income can I claim a loss since the payments will not cover the loan?

Is it possible to get a business loan, a consolidation loan and a home loan all in one? I'm not talking about a million dollars. Overall the total would be in the 150-200k range. I have good credit and am current with my bills. The official loan would be a mortgage but will they handle lending of this nature.

I'm purchasting a condo in California. The seller has not completed repairs we requested. Now my loan broker is telling me my "rate lock" ends on Thursday. I feel like I am being bullied into wiring the funds to close escrow. What happens if the broker's "deadline" expires? Can he charge me extra closing costs? How about this.. can I simply say, "Forget you, I'm going to seek another loan"?
What recourse does the loan agent have? He won't get paid until I close escrow, and if the rate changes, I'm entitled to decline the loan. Right?

This could be near any main hub. Also, there could be sharing of this home. Not your room. There is only 1 bed in each room and potentially 8 bedrooms in the home. All rooms have interent access, housecleaning daily, a shared kitchen, living, dining room. Potentially a garage and min 2 bathrooms. This is a crash pad so no one other then you would be allowed in the home. You could use your room as much as you wanted each month as you would not be sharing it with any other person like at a hotel. So.. how much do you think you should pay for a monthly "Crash Pad" like this one described?? Thank you.

Last month I got really sick and ended up hospitalized for 8 days. I still have not recieived clearance to go back to work and the dr said I may be out for months. My rent is super expensive and I am looking to break my lease simply because I cannot afford it on disability. I also recently found out I was pregnant with twins and have a high risk pregnancy. This place is a 700 square ft 1 bedroom and I can't imagine living here with 2 babies. We need to find something that cost less in a different neighborhood that my husband can afford on is income alone. Do I have any rights?

i lost my lease agreement and we didnt notify the landlord in writing about the mold, we called him on numerous occasions. there is mold on the whole wall of our washer on and inside the wall, my boy friend removed most of it with his hands and sprayed the rest down with bleach and water but it keeps comming back. there was a lique from the washer and dryer hookups that we fixed because the land lord never did and that is why the mold is there. from the looks of it it had been there since before we moved in, thats just estimated because of how much was there, with it being halfway up the wall and at least 4 feet accross and imbeded in the wall. the wall was also so soggy my boyfriend had to bairly touch it for it to break and the mold was seeping through. im allergic to mold and there is no regulations in idaho on mold and i called the health department already and there is nothing they can do. what should i do?

I am about to go to closing in 5 days for a co-op apartment in Queens, NY. But after looking at zillow.com just now I found that recently sold co-ops (that are of comparable size) in the same building and adjacent buildings in the same community sold for roughly 30% LESS than I am paying for this one.
When I was negotiating the price, I wanted to ask for lower price but the real estate agent told me that the board might not approve the sale of an apt there for such a low price--- I feel I was lied to. But after speaking to my lawyer, he told me I cannot back out now because I already signed the commitment letter with the bank.

Is it possible to still try to negotiate price for this? What should i do?!?! I don't want to overpay 30% for this...

Ok so were planning on moving out in January. This is what i have come up with so far..
Bills
-Cell Phones $80
-Truck Insurance $200

Gas for truck $160
Groceries $120
Rent - Up to $700
-----------------------------
$1260 = $630 per person.
But thats just basic.
Right now I work 24 hours a week making 6.95, But also thats just basic I usually work more than that. And I'm a Waitress so I make alot of tips so I can make my half easy.
My boyfriend has a full time job getting 40 hours a week at 8.00. So he can easily afford it to.
We already have some furniture, and pots and pans and all that.

So is there anything I am forgetting? I live in Ontario by the way.

In California, can an ex tenant (in a residential home) sue the landlord over the security deposit AFTER the tenant has already cashed the security deposit refund sent by the landlord?

By the way, the landlord has proof that the tenant has cashed that check within 21 days from the end of the lease.

Also, itemized items were listed out for the tenant as to what the damages were, how much the repair was (at market rates), and photos of the damages were taken.

My husband and I are looking into possibly buying a home here sometime soon. I have been told by everyone that this is a buyers market right now. Do you agree? If not, can you please explain? I don't know much about the housing market, so any input would be wonderful.

Thanks!
