Chris, this depends on many factors, such as who is your lender (as some take longer to process than others); what type of foreclosure process will pursued as Michigan allows for both judicial and non-judicial proceedings; how backed up are the courts; will the auction be delayed for any particular reason?

I currently have a client who has not made a payment in more than 2 years. I have also been contacted by folks who were foreclosed on and evicted within 10 months. I recommend to people to plan on the worst so there are no surprises.

It depends on the mortgage company...some may forclose as soon as 3 months other as long as 12 especially if u file bankruptcy and get a temporay stay. Also after you get forclosed I have heard stories of people living there for months later before the bank prepared it for sale although legally that my be trespassing. I would recommend doing a google search for a government sponsered non-profit agency in your state that is there to educate on your options and be your advocate through this difficult process. Everybody looses with a forclosure so some companies will work with you. Google "MI Home Ownership Education", "MI non profit home ownership education" or what ever city u r in. I wish you the best...remember nothing is to big for God and the worse thing you can do is blindly do nothing as ur credit score falls quickly. He may grace u with a solution to keep it or give u the wisdom to throw in the towel and sell it before it gets taken. God Bless :-)
