I got an apartment a year ago and chose it over others I saw b/c if was over a store. As soon as I moved in the store closed and a restaurant recently opened up. My apartment reeks of fried foods all the time now that it makes me feel sick to my stomach.
Can I legally ask for a rent reduction due to this?

My husband and I sold our primary home this year, but still own another house in a different state. We are now renting in the city of our primary home, but would like our second home to be considered our primary for capital gains reasons. I spend at least 50 % of my time at our second (now only) home. What do we need to do to make our 2nd home our primary?

The General Contractor I hired to finish out my store did not come close to meeting his assurances of when the job would be completed, which resulted in my store still not being open., which has caused me very serious financial problems.

After I accepted the terms of the proposed lease through e-mail, and sending in my Letter of Intent, the Landlord's agent sent me an e-mail. In this e-mail he provided me the names and phone numbers of 2 General Contractors whom he said "I need to talk to." He then said to meet with both, but as the Landlord's Agent, he can't recommend any contractor, so to meet with others, as well.

I did hire one of the 2 General Contractors that my Landlord's Agent specifically told me that I should meet with. As I stated above, this General Contractor was the direct cause for my store being nowhere even near ready when it was supposed to be, per his assurance.

My question is this... does my Landlord have any responsibility for the situation I'm now in?

On our monthly mortgage bill there is a designated area to indicate if we are paying for principal only (after the initial payment). Do I still need to write a seperate check for a "principle only" payment?

my parents had these house&lot loaned for many years now, until i learned that these property's are not being paid regulary, supposed to be on monthly basis, and now on the foreclosure situation by the bank and/or the company who handles the property. i made some inquiries on how to be save these house&lot and i learned that they can still continue to pay it thru me and of course, also on monthly basis.if, for example,
I completely paid these house&lot, does the land title can be tansfered to my name. i made an inquiry on a lawyer and she told me that my parents should execute this " deed of sale with assumption of mortage". whats the use of these "deed of sale with assumption of mortgage". does these "papers" automatically transfers their name to my name on the land title. if not, can i use these "papers" to transfer it from their name to my name.

I purchased a lot in Dec05', and have not been given a building permit because the road going up to the lot was graded without a permit (the seller disclosed: the seller does not guarantee the road- their agent explained something totally different from what it really was) In order to get the permit, I must improve the road (very costly neighboring lot owners- will not help).
*The construction loan expired in Dec 06', and the lender asked me to re-finance the loan.
* Another mortage loan marked my credit with a 30 days past due in October- I am disputing.
* Obtaining a re-fi has been difficult due to this credit issue.
* The originall lender has given me two months to resolve the issue, before they take action (don't know what).
I have two other properties (one with little equity and one free and clear valued at 700K- I tried to use it to re-fi, credit mark is the issue).
What happens if I don't pay- I am tired of this problem! Will they go after my other properties?

Are interest rates based on bank, or are they the same for all banks? I ask because on a local real estate website they have a "todays interest rates" section. Thats a little confusing to me, does that mean its the same no matter where you go?

Ok my friend is divorcing her husband and they own a home together. Out of anger the husband will not agree to sell the home and will not give money towards the mortgage, she cannot afford to pay the mortgage alone. She doesn't want to ruin her credit so she wants to just sell the home without his consent and give him his legal share of the proceeds. Is that possible? They are in Missouri.

Myself and other tenants of my complex have learned that they are going to began construction right in front of our common area to build a pool, gym and so on. this area leads right into our carport and walkways and to the garbage. early on Monday morning a large flat bed truck came and dumped to very large industruial size bins, I guess to place trash in. no one from management told us this would be happening. we live in a very large complex ..garden style apartments with over 110 complexs it's an older complex with beautiful trees and walkways and garden areas. this construction is happening only to a few of us that live in this direct area. we have asked to be relocated to another unit since many of us have small children and feel this is going to be a hazard area. Management states that we can be moved but must pay the full rent for the new apartment 1560.00. we feel this is a slap in the face and should at least get some sort of discount or pay our normal rent canwetakeanyaction?

I went to look at a condo that was being showed by a real estate agent. I made an offer and a few days later I was told they accepted the offer. The RE guy told me to get working on my mortgage and finding an attorney. A week and a half later after Ive got the ball rolling and paid money for my mortgage app he tells me someone made a higher offer on the apt. I was upset and shoked as I thought they were not showing the apt anymore since they accepted my offer. A few days later he calls to tell me the second offer fell through and Im next in line again. At the same time he mentions needing to fax me a dual agency disclousure form he wants me to sign. The way it looks to me is he should have given me this form the day I looked at the apt or atleast the day I made my offer. He is totally stressing this form now as I have not signed and sent back. He said he will get in trouble if the state asks for it. I still just dont understand why I need to sign this form now. Can anyone help?
