The bills are in the builders name and he never finished the house.
He disappeared right after closing and we have only spoken to him once over the phone.
We excepted the fact it wasn't going to get finished and left it at that.
He called tonight and said he was getting calls from contractors looking for their money and that he was going to give them our phone number and we could deal with it.

I need help regarding tenants and landlord issue.
Me and my family was looking for a shorterm apartment, whic is not very easy to find in Oakland, Pittsburgh area. Finally after looking for a month I decided to sublet someone's else apartment that the tenant told me that it has a bed bug problem and the pest control has been treating it 3 times and they never seen any bugs anymore.
Anyway, this coming wednesday, it will be the 10 times!!! and we try to get out of the lease but the landlord said he is going to sue us if we did. The Health department can only offer to come to inspect the place.
We are not in a place where we can hire or spend money for a lawyer. We really don't know where we have to turn to. I have a 1 year old daughter that I am very much concern for her health breathing all the things that they spray every single week.
I hope someone could help me with this issue. thank you very much for your time.

I'm a single, unattached 25 year old male professional looking to get into some property as a much needed tax break, to build equity, and because I don't believe in renting and throwing away money but definitely feel it's time to move out of the parents' now that I'm 2 years removed from graduate school. I live in Massachusetts where the market has been pretty overvalued, but I have watched it depreciate by $10,000-$30,000 since last spring. Since I'm not quite ready to buy in the suburbs, my choices have come between a small (~600-800 sq ft) 2 br condo (better resale value than 1 br or studio) in a major city (Boston) and a 3 br house in a minor city an hour away from Boston (Worcester). My job is located in-between the 2 cities. I don't anticipate living in either city for more than 5 years, so which is the better choice and should I give strong consideration to a 5/1 ARM with the idea I'm going to sell before I ever have to worry about variable rates? I'm open to any advice.

This is in east coast beach area accessible to Philly, DC and Baltimore. Is this market dead? Very few sales in the last 6 months so comps are hard to come by. How do appraisers handle this? Should I get some appraisals?

We closed on our house last week, all money has exchanged hands. I got a call from our real estate agent and she said there is a problem. The buyers have "discovered" that the carpet needs replaced. We thought it was pretty obvious, we even included a $2,000 allowance for upgrades. They used the money for closing costs instead. We need to find out if we are liable for these "undisclosed repairs." Any ideas?

How do you find a place to rent in california if you have bad credit besides a co-signer? Are there any websites that can help. Fixing ones credit report takes a while but you still have to live somewhere right!

My house is appraised at 49,700
They said they would pay house payment and taxes for a year in the house I am in now if I sale it today.
They said price is negotiable.
The area is booming with commercial business.
A Wal-Mart supercenter and a strip mall are getting ready to open with a Dillion grocery store and a sonic fast food restaurant opening about 2 years ago.
If I sold I would have to put more down on my next house because I used up my first time home buyer special. And the interest rates are higher now then they were 3 years ago.

Is it enough to do a price change, or do you have to take property off of the market for a period of time?

My husband and I have been thinking of moving lately and we ran into our landlord at Rite Aid where we let slip that we were thinking of moving December 1. That's more than 2 months away. We have not given 30 written notice. Now suddenly our landlord is posting on apartment rental places that our apartment in available and she's scheduled it to be shown to MULITPLE people this Wednesday and then on Saturday. We haven't even given notice to move out! What are my rights? Can she do this? I know once we have commited to moving out in paper she can but this just seems so premature and the thought of having people tramp around my apartment 2-4 nights a week for the next 2 months really makes me mad. :( I should have just kept my big fat mouth shut. And what if something comes up before November 1 (when we will be officially giving our 30 day notice) and we decide not to move?

ps. I live in New Jersey.

If the sellers say that the house is only like a few thousand dollars, does that mean that the house is really that price? Does anyone know anything about purchasing houses that have been foreclosed upon, and about purchasing homes in general?

ok here's the deal. my parents own a number of houses and apartments. about a year ago they helped me to get my first place by putting the morgage under their name....even though i put the deposit down and pay the morgage. since they own multiple properties and buy and sell freqently....technically in order to avoid paying a bunch of taxes on it, they have to keep it for 2 years before they can sell it (1 more year left). however i would like to move onto another place. is there any way that they could transfer the condo under my name so i can put it on the market quicker?
