How do you find a place to rent in california if you have bad credit besides a co-signer? Are there any websites that can help. Fixing ones credit report takes a while but you still have to live somewhere right!

Is it possible to have someone else sign the lease for you, like your parents? The laws in regard to renting need to be changed.

Don't do Fixing Credit Reports - they are scams and will ripp you off. Only way to fix your c.r. is 2nd and 3rd jobs - pay your bills off. Credit fixer actually mess up credit more.
As for renting , find a mom-pop operation or a place with real human managers - rent from them , stay 2 yrs pay in advance of date make no waves. You got best references now.
As for money problem Visit DaveRamsey.com to learn what you don't know so you don't lose your money shirt again. Remember cash is king Credit is dumb.

Look for a month-to-month rental agreement, not a 1-year lease. This way its less risky for a landlord.

If you have a good job you can get a apartment anywhere. in my hometown the landlord checks for good credit but by me having a good job she overlooked it!!

The landlord could ask for a cashiers check for the deposit.
