I hear it is very hard to file for the type of bankruptcy where they abolish all of your debt. However, what about the type of bankruptcy where you pay back some of your debt? If you file this type of bankruptcy, will you definitely get accepted, even if you make a high income? How much of your debt do they make you pay back and in what timeframe? How much does it cost to file for bankrutpcy nowadays? Do you have to pay a lawyer up front? Does a lawyer guarantee you will be accepted for filing bankruptcy? THANKS!

People get rich in different ways, some work hard for 40 years and save, while others write a hit song or book and become a best selling author over night. I want to get rich easy not hard.

My husband and I both have good credit, on the border line of being excellent and we don't want to do anything that will hurt our credit score.
Together we have 6 credit cards with approximately $7000 in debt a mortgage payment and two car payments. I have transferred the balance of one of the cards several times ($4000) and do not want to do it again, the interest and accrued finance charges will hit in January and there is no way I will be able to pay it off by then, so I need to find a way to consolidate or something before then. One of my biggest problem is that I'm a SHOPPER and I can't resist a bargin, I put all my extra money towards payments and then have no money to spend so I use a credit card. What kind of solutions can you offer (other than quit shopping, that one I'm well aware of and I have removed all credit cards from my purse), do local banks offer consolidation loans with low interest? Please Help!!

Today in the mail I received a letter from a credit card company. I thought it was probably another offer for a credit card and almost threw it into the trash. But, I opened it, it was a bill from a credit card company whom had sent me offers before. It was a new account in my name with on-line purchases in Austrailia the credit card limit was 1000.00 and the interest was almost 35%. So I immediately called the company. On the automated it ask for my SS# Well I thought to myself they should already have it and ignored the request. I finally reached customer service and she told me that I should call back on Monday morning and speak to the fraud department. Well it is Saturday evening. What should I do next? I sure hope there isn't more cards and lines of credit opened up in my name. Thanks in advance.

The problem is there are also 8 others none under the age of 21 and there is a trustee. How do we get our share with this trustee in place. I think a trustee was appointed for the grandneices as they were under 18 when will was made. I am now being told that the trustee is reinvesting themoney and willnot release it for a long time

1) Can he do what he likes with the money or are there special restrictions, in exchange of the tax privileges received?

2) Also when the person finally dies, can he bequeath all what is left to his inheritors or only a certain percentage?

In UK, when we retire, we can only draw 25% of our retirement funds to do as we like. The rest we must use to buy an annuity, which leaves nothing after death. This our nanny state says, is so that people cannot spent all the money unwisely and become a burden on the state.

And, being the genious that I am, I threw the slip away. I deposited $280 (14 twenty dollar bills) but it said I deposited $140. I'm going back to the bank on Monday and try to explain that my mistake. I updated my bank book at the same time, so hopefully that will be okay. I'm kicking myself for throwing out the slip, as that would be the best proof.
Can anyone tell me what else I can do? Or is my $140 gone forever?

The bank is offering a line of credit sale. I pay no fees, the bank is covering all closing costs, state taxes, appraisal fees and the first year annual fee. I can take out a line of credit on the equity of my house. The rate is prime minus 1/2.

What is in it for them? Could there be a hidden downside for me? What do you think?

I have a credit score of 435!!! YIKES!! It was 470 last July and that was right before I paid off only one of four delinquent accounts. One was a car repo. I had in Nov. 2005 which has since been paid off (now over a year and a half ago). My credit score doesn't even say repossession anymore. It just says, "paid profit and loss"-don't know what that means exactly. Two other things are accounts for late payments of under 300 dollars. So, why is my score this low? Really, it's ridiculous!! I have had numerous people check my score for a personal loan and am wondering if that did it. I'm talking maybe 10 banks, I applied with online.
