Any tips on what we should do through personal experiences?

My brother and I want to move out. We both have full-time jobs that pay $13.00 and hour. We were getting a 2 bedroom for $1500 a month and $1000 down. A friend of ours that gets payed $15.00 under the table is moving in as well. What are the first steps? We are all paying $500 a month...

Make sure you're ALL on the lease and all of the bills. Document everything and leave a paper trail so you won't look so dumb if you end up on Judge Judy.

Put it all in writing. Don't forget the little things, like whose turn is it to clean the toilet and what happens if you eat someone else's ramen noodles? You might wanna stock up on those...

That guy "getting paid under the table" might be your financial downfall. Like I said, just leave a trail.

Its good that you want to move out. Independence with responsibility is a good life lesson to learn.

Unfortunately, you and your brother are going to be eating a lot of beans and Ramen to make ends meet. My advice would be to figure out a way to enhance your income before becoming renters.

You really need to take a look at expenses that you'll incur. Do you own a car? Where is the money for gas, maintenance and insurance going to come from.

Rather than look at the short term, take a little longer look at where you are in life. $13/hour is not enough to live on, so how do you get to where you want to be from where you are? Trade school, junior college, different line of work?

College grads will make about $1 million more than non-college grads over the course of their lives.

Probably not the answer you want to hear but it takes a lot more maturity to figure out what to do with your life and what path you should follow than just the urge to move out and be on your own. I wish you luck but think the odds are against you if you move out now, it will probably see you moving back in later.

2 bedrooms and 3 people ? Who gets the bedroom by themselves ?
And why should the ones sharing pay the same as the one getting a private bedroom ?

Rentals are usually first month , last month and a security deposit equal to a months rent .
You may also need to get the utilities set up in your names ( gas , electric and maybe water ) .

After that , figure on someone partying late and the others loosing their job behind sleep deprivation .
Happens frequently with young-uns and then making the rent becomes a challenge .

Good Luck !

Break down a detailed budget. Monthly Rent, Gas, Food, Car Insurance, Medical Insurance, Personal, Entertainment, etc.

Search for a place! Most places ask for a deposit and first and last!

Good Luck.
