I was wandering abou this company. They are different than a debt consolidator. When I spoke with them they never mentioned about negotiating with the creditors for a lower rate. What they said they do was put my accounts in dispute and wait until the creditor does something illegal that their attorneys will catch, then they use that as leverage against the creditor to wipe out my debt. Like, I dont have to pay it back. Which I thought was strange. All they require is that I pay them about half the amount of my total minimum payments for 18 months. I calculated about $7000 all together to get rid of all $22,000 of my debt. The money they said was to pay the attorneys. The guy said that they are 100% effective but could not give me any guarantees. I checked them out on the BBB and there are no complaints either. What do you think?

I am filling out paperwork to see if i qualify for charity care...and they ask if i have any personal assets? This may sound like a dumb question, but what are personal assets? I am currently financing a car through a bank, is that considered a asset? Also, what are family assets? I live with my parents, but i don't own anything of value except maybe my car, but since i'm financing its not technically a asset right? Thanks for the help!

Okay, I want to get a maxillofacial procedure done on my jaw, and my insurance won't cover it.

However, I have no financial knowledge whatsoever. I have some questions and I was wondering if you guys could help me!

1. What is APR? Does a 9.95% APR mean I pay 9.95% total interest on the money i borrow? Or is that compounded monthly, or yearly?
2. What is the best place to get a small loan for? I don't have any collateral, except my car a 2000 model small japanese car. I'm guessing I am too young to have a credit history. My parents pay for everything, and they give me about $5000 to spend on rent and other things every 3 to 4 months, so I could use this to pay for my surgery over time. I don't really have an income, I am a college student. I suppose I could convince a loan company to give me money if I could make a downpayment, so this probably would be the best way for me to go.

I am guessing I need at most $10,000. Orthodontics and then eventual jaw surgery.
Please help me.

Okay, so we all know how life can be... long story condensed- I've been n this whole credit building trip for a while (finally got a card- yay) but so far, haven't built any. ( a while being two months, just got th card havent goten a bill yet.)~Thats all well and good. Now... My husband, my brother, his gf, and I have been living with my mom for a while to "get started" (my nephew passed and the funeral costs killed our savings.) however, my mother has a substance problem and has gone as for as stealing my bank card for a day at a time and convieniently "finding it on the street for me."~shes months behind in the rent and now decided she just gona let the house go... i have no idea how or why she thinks she has the upperhand in that desicion... anyway... we (my bro, the gf, and my hubby) are apt hnting and are using my father in law as a co-signer on the lease... he's the only usable person (awesome credit.) i cant use him on a loan as well, and we NEED ONE NOW. help?

Has anybody had any problems with people buying items from eBay and wanting them shipped to Africa? Was is a scam? I have someone who has just bought a computer off me and wants me to send it to Africa, he is from the USA. I checked his feedback and he has bought one other fairly expensive item and paid for it without complications.

I listed a refurbished Toshiba Protege M100 on eBay last night for $499 plus $49.99 postage. I bought it fro eBay a few days earlier for the same price but recieved a new laptop as a gift before it arrived, so I re listed it to make my money back. I got up this money and somebody had bought it, but they had also sent me and email declaring that they wanted to pay for the item NOW and they wanted me to post it overseas to a friend of thiers. Now the bit that is a little concerning is that they want to pay $790 for the computer! Why would they want to pay more then I am asking? They have offered to pay by money order and I will not be posting the item until I recieve the order and have cashed it! But do you think this is some sort of scam?

I've been looking at internet banks and getting ready to open an interest-earning checking account with INGDirect. Then interest rates dropped and I'm getting cold feet. I figure it's still a better deal than the interest rate my bank gives (which is practically nothing) but I'm new to all of this and would appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Hi

1. Re the below, what if the creditor has written to the debtor but the debtor has paid nothing nor contacted the creditor for more than six years? Do the provisions of the act still apply?

"Limitations Act 1980 outlines the time limit within which a creditor can chase a debtor for outstanding debts. The Limitations Act 1980 only applies when no contact has been made between the creditor and debtor within the given time limit and only applies to residents of England and Wales."

2. I have defended a claim on the above basis and been asked to fill in an allocation questionaire which is confusing. Any advice?

Many thanks

I have just hung up from trying to get a auto title from this bunch of retards that was payed off over
two months ago.I was told today the title was mailed Sept 20. I told this nut that I was told it was mailed Aug 23.Then he backs up. It comes down to they finely came clean that they mailed it to the wrong address. Also my bank account was over dipped over 2600 dollars when I payed it off. That I got back after a month and a half. Now the retards tell me it is up to me to apply for another title.
When I first got this loan about 30 months ago
they lied about the interest so I canceled the credit card I had with them. So they turn around eighteen months later and send me a bill for a 20 dollar annual fee I called and told them I had not had that account for over a year and a half so I thought that was the end of that till my credit score went down and the nuts had reported it to the credit rating company's.
All I can say is stay away from them.
Wink

Im closing on my first house next week. My husband and I are both 30. I checked I mortgage caculator and found out if we make a payment of $3500.00 1 x a year in addition to our regular payments then we will pay the loan off 10 years earlier. Is that a good thing to do with our money or should we be putting it into some sort of stocks for retirement.

I am trying to send money to different people in my family from the internet. I am looking for what Bank will allow for ACH transfers or direct wiring of money to another bank account without having to supply the "two small deposits" or knowing the login information of the payee. I just want to be able to wire money to any bank account/routing number without having to go through a verification process. Does anyone know a bank that makes this process easy?
