Has anybody had any problems with people buying items from eBay and wanting them shipped to Africa? Was is a scam? I have someone who has just bought a computer off me and wants me to send it to Africa, he is from the USA. I checked his feedback and he has bought one other fairly expensive item and paid for it without complications.

No I have made it very clear that I will only ship the item after the money is cleared and I have waited 10 days after it has been deposited.

Did you specify international shipping on your item or only U.S & Canada?
If only U.S, you are under no obligation to honor this transaction.
This sounds like a scam.
Once the computer is shipped to Africa, all he has to do is notify paypal that he never received item and paypal automatically takes money from your account to his.
However, if he is paying by check or money order, and it clears, I do not see a problem.
Or, you can tell him you will only ship to U.S
I still think you should cancel and re list.
God Bless

Some are legit ,
Some are scams . . .
Do they want the merchandise Before you have a chance to clear the money order they are sending ?

Are they sending you more than the price and wanting a western union in return ?

Check the shipping charges to africa. I would say I only ship to USA. Who knows why they want it shipped to africa and will not do it themselves.

It sounds like a potential scam. Ask somebody at eBay to look at the communications from this buyer before you agree to anything, because they've probably heard it all by now.

Since they are wanting you to send the computer overseas they may be trying to get you to send the computer somewhere where they US version of the software is illegal and only the international version can be used do to cryptology in the US software.
