I will kind of be living in two states (going back and forth) for about a year. I am thinking HSBC might be a great solution because the interest rate is quite high and it appears a lot easier to get money out of than at Emigrant Direct. How do you like HSBC? Does it have any downfalls?

Recently received an email that said my email address had been chosen so I was the winner of part of the UK national lottery. Then emails followed asking for typical info (no bank acct # or SS#).

After going to debt counseling,I had no option left except to file a chapter 7. Listed with my debtors are 2 payday loans,2 weeks prior to filing,I took out a payday loan for $175,yes it was stupid, but food on the table seem more important at the time.I called and informed them, that I had to retain a lawyer, and was informed that when I signed the contract I would not be filing bankruptcy within 30 days, and my attorney was a personel friend.I did not plan on filing, all other options were used up.Can and will this effect my bankruptcy? Also, the 2nd payday loan I borrowed from is a prominent member of the community, and told me he would get his $ one way or the other, even if it ment following my butt all the way up the court house steps.I am a emotional wreck! The stress of the bankruptcy has taken it's toll, and now this.I will call my attorney on Mon.,but if anyone could help relieve some of this emotional roller coaster,I would deeply appreciate it!

I asked this question last night, but I do not believe I was specific enough, and the answers sucked. I am 19, full-time college student, I have a job in a hospital, but my area of expertise tends to be slow during the summer months. I loaned money to a friend who was really in a bind, not thinking of my situation, and now my bank account is suffering hardcore. I have been at this job for 2 years now, so I do not want to quit, and I have applied to so many places for a weekend job, but they all say "that they are looking for somebody more permanent." And I would kill myself before going to my parents for help; they never help, they tend to just make situations worse, or hold things over my head, and I do not want that negativity right now. I really need ideas on how to make some extra cash, and fast. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My case is not actually filed yet because my Att. fees are not yet paid in full. I cut up all credit cards on the day I went in for a consult. I did not charge anything after that day but I have and did I shop with my debit card. I now only buy the absolute necessities. I may not qualify for Chapter 7 because I still have between $200-$300 left over after all expenses at end of month so may need to file for Chapter 13. This left over money (all of it) would go to pay my reorganized debt, but if any emergency were to happen I don't know what I would do. My doctor just took me out of work for a month due to excess strss/anxiety/fatigue. So now I'll miss a month's salary. This medical situation is not a shocker, it's been a bomb waiting to explode for a long time and it finally happened - mostly because of work related stress. (I am a single 30 year old Flight Attendant) I do not know what to do at this point in regards to my financial situation. It seems to be a downward spiral. HELP!

i was having a discussion with some friends and we can't decide...i know there's no dictionary definition, but what is the accepted answer? cash in the bank? net worth? (and does anyone know a simple way to calculate net worth?) and then another question we were pondering--where can you find a chart of the united states' wealth percentiles...in other words, what percentage of the population earns $50,000/yr, $100,000/yr, $250,000/yr and so on. sorry i know that's a lot of little questions here but any information will be appreciated! thanks!
