I am not a wealthy woman, but maintain an above average salary, but seem to always be living from pay check to pay check. I understand that I have to stop impulse buying etc... but is there a sound equation that I could apply to my budget and follow it? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about other states in the U.S., but Texas has a weekend just before school starts where items related to "back-to-school" are not taxed. These are things such as clothes and school supplies. Now tax is only about 8 cents per dollar and many retailers have sales during this time anyway. The tax related savings really boil down to 8 dollars per 100 that are spent. I'm on the fence about this one, what do you think?

I know that's sort of a personal question, so you don't have to answer. Mine is 628 and I'm 19 years old. I have a credit card, a checking account, a savings account, 2 smaller store credit cards, and a school loan. I was just sort of wondering if mine is average, ok, good, etc. for my age? i have some outstanding bills. I owe three people some serious cash. I just got a fat chunk of change.
SHould i:
a) pay off two out of three debtors
b) pay a little bit to all 3, save some, and then buy some much needed stuff
c) pay off one out of 3 debtors, save some, and then blow the rest on a fun trip
d) any other option you can think of???
