Recently received an email that said my email address had been chosen so I was the winner of part of the UK national lottery. Then emails followed asking for typical info (no bank acct # or SS#).

DO NOT respond!! I work for a financial institution, and we just received an alert from the FBI last week about these european lottery scams. They will send you what looks like a legitamite certified check, but it's fake. If you bank accepts it, they will eventually be notified that it's fake and you'll be on the hook to repay the money you've spent. You are responisble for any check that is deposited into your account.

At least twice a week! However, since I didn't enter the lottery, I can't really win, can I? Don't get sucked in.

I get this several times day, and have been for the past year or so. It's irritating. I've reported it as spam, but each time it must come from a different e-mail address or something.

IT'S A SCAM! They will ask you for money so as to facillitate the renumeration of your winnings. No legitimate lottery does that.
