I really don't understand how affiliate links work. I can see if someone buys something based off the link. But people make money using them even if no one buys anything - just by being directed to a site. So are they a form of pyramid scheme? Where does the money come from if no one buys anything? It just seems like a pyramid scheme. If anyone knows how they work, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone know what to do next?
ps. The company doesn't want any phone calls.

Anyways she gave herself an additonal 5 dollar per hour. I have already complained about this friends other issues (she is rude to the cleaninig staff), anyways, any negative comments were dismissed last time. Should I bother or leave it?

You recently ran into Bill Autograph, a friend from high school who has been really busy
getting his sports collectible/memorabilia business off the ground. When he heard you
were an accountant, he became very interested and wanted you to clarify something.
One concept he seemed particularly confused about was the fact that when inventory is
purchased, it is recorded on the books at cost but the books are not adjusted for
subsequent increases in the value of the inventory. This concept is of particular
importance to Bill because he often buys collectibles that will increase in value depending
on how successful a particular player or team becomes. Can he record increases in the
value of his sports memorabilia inventory?

On December 1, 2007, Cardinal Company, a garden retailer, purchased $20,000 of corn
seed, terms 2/10, n/30, from Iowa Farm Co. Even though the discount period had
expired, Sandi Kurtz subtracted the discount of $400 when she processed
the documents for payment on December 15, 2007. Discuss whether Sandi Kurtz
behaved in a professional manner by subtracting the discount, even though the discount
period had expired.

Silva and Wanita Rodriques are the owners of Year-Round Landscape, Inc., a small
landscape and yard service business in southern California. The business is three years
old and has grown significantly, especially during the past year. To sustain this growth,
Year-Round Landscape must expand operations.

In the past, the Rodriques have been able to secure funds for the business from personal
resources. Now those resources are exhausted, and the Rodriques are seeking a loan
from a local bank. To satisfy bank requirements, Year-Round Landscape, Inc., must
provide a set of financial statements, including comparative income statements showing
the growth in earnings over the past three years. In analyzing the records, Silva notices
that the nominal accounts have not yet been closed for this year. Furthermore, Silva is
aware of a major contract that is to be signed on January 3, only three days after the
December 31 year-end for the business. Silva suggests that the closing process be
delayed one week so that this major contract can be included in this year’s operating
results. Silva estimates that this contract will increase current year earnings by 20%.

What accounting issues are involved in this case? What are the ethical issues?

I opened a new pack of index "cards" today, and they where thin as ish! Why are they making everything with so much less quality? Is it because of the gas prices? Are they trying to be more environmental friendly? Whats the deal

.. I interviewed with them last Tuesday and was called back for a 2nd interview last Thursday. They told me I come highly recommended and gave me the impression that I was the person they were looking for. I was introduced to the whole staff and a few corporate managers.

Anyway, I was told last Thursday that they would contact me "next week" (which is this week) but I haven't heard anything yet and the anticipation is killing me.

Should I give it more time???

I was going to have a guy put a metal fence on my house. He was going to charge me 3650 for the work. He asked me to give me half the money to start the work. I made a deposit receipt stating the work description and the amount i was giving him for deposit. He came the next day for the deposit. He made too many changes in my receipt besides the fact that he didnt want to write down the license number and on top of that asked me for more money than we agreed at the beginnig plus other things that i didnt like he changed last minute. I gave him the check for 2,025 but minutes after he left i changed my mind about this guy and made a stop payment on the check and called him to tell him not to cash the check. He told me it was too late that he had deposited it already. I offered to cover the penalty fees since it was my fault but i dont want to do business with him. Can he do any legal action against me? he said that because of me his bank account had been frozen.
