have a dilemma, my ceo's best friend works in the finance department and this friend of hers does payroll and does her own pay. We are a small company. Anyways she gave herself an additonal 5 dollar per hour. I have already complained about this friends other issues (she is rude to the cleaninig staff), anyways, any negative comments were dismissed last time. Should I bother or leave it?

I guess my first question is how do you know she gave herself the $5// hour raise and do you know that it was not authorized. If you found out by using a means that was not within you authority you are guilty. If you tell her and it turns out that she was authorized to receive this increase you will look very foolish.
However you do have a duty to the company to report fraud and improper conduct. I always hate it but in this case an typed letter without a name might be the solution.
