First Class standard is based on weight as is Priority. Price difference for a college textbook is about $3 between the two services.
The time difference is Priority takes about as long as First Class but since it's a Priority package it won't get "bumped" and usually ships with the First Class mail. You're paying for the privilege of it not being bumped from the "mail line". First Class will always reach its destination and never gets bumped from the "mail line".

I think it depends on the size and weight. A small package could be less than a buck differance but a large heavy package could be several dollars more. Go to
www.USPS.com (stands for United States Postal Service)and put in the approx size and weight it will figure it out for you there

Depends on size and weight. But they do have flat rate envelopes and boxes for priority mail, where you pay one price no matter the weight. The envelope is under $5.00 for and the box is under $9.00.

Depends on the weight . . .
Take it to the Post Office , put it on the self service scale and all the mailing options will come up for that weight .

It depends on the size and weight. Log on to www.usps.com. They have a calculator on there to tell you exactly what it would cost for both.
