I received a letter accompanying the check saying that I had won $48.000. It stated that if I chose for them to pay the taxes, I would receive ther remaining balance (minus 3,100 for taxes) within 3 to 5 business days by courier. I am skeptical.

Two weeks ago I lost my job as the mamager of a local bar. There was no indication it was happeneing until the day it happened. The owner told me i had lost my job but left me to tell the other four members of staff. Two were fine about it. but two were not and ended up banging on my front door shouting and swearing. I was terrified. had to get the police to get rid of them!
However, one of the staff who took it badly had left at of the begining of the month but was still going mental at me.
She is pregnant and hoping to claim maternity pay but doesnt have all her payslips even though i called the accountant and had the missing ones sent out to her. Is this my fault???
Also a few weeks ago we had a staff meeting and i explainde that the safe was down 250.00. During the meeting all the staff agreed to payback 50.00 each. it wasnt written down but there were witnesses. Now one of the staff is demending her 50.00 back from me!!! what do i do? Im too scared to go out myself!

I have already tried Chase, Commerce, Bank of America, and Sovereign. I am a customer at Commerce and Bank of America but they insist on depositing the funds in my account first which I don't want to do. I need a cashier's check for about $5000 I don't care about the fee. Grateful if anyone knows of a bank.

charging more for a postage stamp..? Is this a rip-off by the Post Office..?

Post Office May Issue 'Forever' Stamp
First-Class Rate Would Rise to 41 Cents
By RANDOLPH E. SCHMID
AP
WASHINGTON (Feb. 26) -- A postal regulatory commission recommended a 2-cent increase in the cost of mailing a letter Monday and urged the Post Office to introduce a "forever" stamp valid for first-class postage even when rates rise.

The recommendation to increase postage to 41 cents was a penny less than the postal service had requested.

The commission recommended a 26-cent rate for post cards, also a penny less than the Post Office had sought.

The first ounce of a first-class mail would rise to 41 cents, but each additional ounce would cost 17 cents under the proposal. Currently, each additional ounce of first-class mail costs 24 cents.

The matter now goes back to the Board of Governors of the Postal Service for a decision on whether to accept the recommendation or ask the commission to reconsider. If the governors accept the recommendations the new rates could be implemented in 60 days.

A key part of the plan is the so-called forever stamp, which would allow consumers to hedge against future rate increases.

The stamp, which would not show a denomination, would sell for the first-class rate at the time of purchase and would remain valid for mailing permanently, even if rates increase.
