Hi guys, my question is, is their a limit on how much you can bet on a soccer match in the uk at the major bookmakers? im talking of a bet of around £1000 , £2000 maximum, will the bookies let me do that ?

I asked who they were and what they wanted but they said they could not talk to me unless I gave them the last 4#'s of my social security number. I made up 4 numbers and they said that was not what they had on file...surprise surprise. The guy said he had to terminate the call because I must be the wrong party...of course he still would never tell me the reason for the call. He claimed to be from First Electronics or something along those lines. Anyone else have a similar experience? What kind of scam are they running? Anyone actually given out their ss# to these people...what happened? I tried calling the number back...of course there was no answer and the "mailbox" is full...

I've received an email in Tue, 20 feb 2007 from Australian national lottery ,Authorised by the south Australian government,sponsored by Yahoo.mail claiming that I'm the winner of cash-out lotto Bv2007 and the prize is 250000us$. Can it be true? I should be grateful if you answer soon. Thanks.

I have been off from work for almost 4 months due to surgery from a car accident. I get a disablilty check for now until I go back to work but it's not nearly what I was making at my job. Creditors call me from around 8:30 a.m. to about 8:00 or so at night.I have stopped answering the phone because I recognize the numbers. They usually don't leave a message because their machine automatically calls my number and when a real person picks up they don't realize my answering machine is playing. I have explained my situation to them and no one seems to listen. They want to set up payments that I can't possibly promise to make until I am back to work and that will be months. How can I get them to stop calling me everyday all day?

As I live in the UK but my family is in Italy, I call them quite often. Normal international calls' rates are so dear that I decided to open an account with Smartaccount. Their services are cheap but their quality absolutely terrible, for it's almost impossible to hear and to be heard. Does anybody know whether an honest company in that sector exist? I mean, cheap calls and decent quality. Thank you.

I work with a dentis who will say "God Bless" to patients when she dismisses them. It's like her way of saying "Take Care". I feel this is inappropriate in a business situation in todays world. What do you think? What would your reaction be?

I was told this is a gray area and if no one has complained, it doesn't need to be addressed. My take on it is, why allow it to continue if it may offend someone? I would rather be proactive rather than reactive.

A friend of mine is soon to go bankcupt in Britain...and she has been in contact with the Consumer Credit council and they have suggested that she open a basic account from where she can run her future dealings once she is banckrupt. Unfortunately she has been unsuccessful at many of the banks she has applied at even though she has only asked for a Basic account...

I took my car to a small local garage where I have gone many times. I was very happy with them and was surprised that they allowed me to pick up my car after hours and leave a check in the drop box. This was almost 3 weeks ago and my check hasn't been cashed. Should I call them to see if they got it? (Or if they lost it?)

here in the supermarkets, prices of basic commodities usually have prices like 14.95, 30.95, 39.95 and so on.

when you pay in the cash registrer, u have an extra 10 or 15 cents more and most of the time they don't have the exact change to give to you.. they ask you if its alright to give you the change without the 5, 10 cents... it just irritates me, because you always the right amount but when it comes to the change they short-hands you..

what do you think could be the reason?
