I took my car to a small local garage where I have gone many times. I was very happy with them and was surprised that they allowed me to pick up my car after hours and leave a check in the drop box. This was almost 3 weeks ago and my check hasn't been cashed. Should I call them to see if they got it? (Or if they lost it?)

Yes you should because maybe the check may have gotten stuck in the drop box or is in a drawer somewhere, you said it wasn't cashed so you know that someone did not take it. If I ever leave a check in a drop box I always take a few minutes when they open to call to make sure they received the check. If they tell you that they lost it then you need to cancel that check with your bank if you write another one because if they run both checks through you may have bounced checks, some people just hold checks for a long time.

i suggest you do . would hate to think someone else ran off with it.
the only way i wouldn't is if i didn't have enough money to cover the cheque now.
