Is there any honest company in the international-calls sector ?

As I live in the UK but my family is in Italy, I call them quite often. Normal international calls' rates are so dear that I decided to open an account with Smartaccount. Their services are cheap but their quality absolutely terrible, for it's almost impossible to hear and to be heard. Does anybody know whether an honest company in that sector exist? I mean, cheap calls and decent quality. Thank you.

I've been living in China for a while now and have been having the best luck with Skype. I have been calling the US from China for about a year and a half.
