A warranty stipulates what is covered and how it will remedied in case of malfunction. A guarantee is a more general term which includes warranties, but could also be a statement made without a warranty spelling it out.

In terms of the product, in case of warranty, the defective part is replaced whereas in case of guarantee, the whole product is replaced.
