A friend of mine is soon to go bankcupt in Britain...and she has been in contact with the Consumer Credit council and they have suggested that she open a basic account from where she can run her future dealings once she is banckrupt. Unfortunately she has been unsuccessful at many of the banks she has applied at even though she has only asked for a Basic account...
does anyone have any suggestions/experience in this?

Either get a savings account with a debit card or find a reliable prepaid debit/credit card company online.
Don't trust any of them from Utah though, they are the fraud capitol of the debit industry!
Check them out using the Better Business bureau online and you will do just fine!

Yes, that can be a pain. She will need some sort of sponsor to help her open an account.....
