I heard there is good and bad debt. School is the good kind because it is like an investment. I can get a better paying job after all this. But what if I'm already struggling with $15K-20K of credit card debt? Is it better to put graduate school on hold until I can pay my bills or should I just take out school loans again and worry about my debt later?

I paid myoff my first credit card and they told me it would help my credit line, if I kept it open and never used it. I still have a zero balance. Besides any monthly fees of any kind, is there any harm in keeping it open?

My sister makes about $28k a year. She is a single mother. She filed Chapter 7 last year. She gave her landlord a 30 day notice that she was leaving. She has lived in the apartment for 3 years. Her lease renewed in August. The landlord called her and said she is responsible for rent until they re-rent the place and if she doesn't send the $$ they can file a judgement and garnish her wages. My sister has worked really hard to get this new place and she has done an excellent job on the accounts that have been opened since her discharged Chapter 7. She feels her only protection from the landlord is to file a Chapter 13. From what I know about Chapter 13's, your "disposable income" is used to pay your creditors. My sister really doesn't have any disposable income so can she even file a Chapter 13? Also, will she no longer be able to use her new credit cards she's been doing excellent on?

There's just so many damn choices to choose from. Choice, Disney, Amazon, Best Buy and the list goes on and on. I was thinking about going with the card from Amazon though since I make more purchaes there then anywhere else.

My friend has been asking around and nobody really seems to know. Even my banker says he'll have to get back to me later. I know what it is (all too many times I had to spot him), but we're wondering if he'll ever get back to using his card as much as he wants safely.

also, does it apply if he switches banks?

I also paid off some old collections ( 5-6 years old) a couple settled for less and a couple I paid full amount ( fees, orginal charges and intrest) how long will it take to clear up my credit and for my score to improve.

Someone gave me an idea for one of my paragraphs. People over-estimate their expected earnings. I need to prove this. How can I phrase this? I need about 3 points. I'm creating an outline now. So as the topic of my Paragraph I have Over-estimating expected earnings, and as one of my reasons to support it, I have they spend what they expect to make.. what else can I use????
