the cable company appartly got my mothers social security now she never gave it to them. They clam that she did but appartly they got somehow and they would not tell us how. second I try to talk but they told me since I was not on the account then we won't talk to you. I have to have you social security number. how do I know what they will do would you give them your social security. did they hack my mothers records. I gave them a password a lond time ago. they said they not allowed to do password. I went to the suppervisor and he said we can put the password on the account. what worrys me is that they have hacked into my bank reconds and know how much I have. The other thing they said to me is my name is not on the account but my mother only her name so they won't talk to me or help. I been a 25 year customer. what they saying is since its not on my name they won't talk to me I had to get the supervisor. do you think I was hacked what you happened?

Don't you know the cable companies think there God's. They can do anything they want LOL. Seek advice from an attorney and check her credit report because you don't know who might have It at the company this is where stolen identity comes into play.

I have worked for 3 large cable company and I really hate to say this but at the time of installation your mother had to have given her social. Its policy so they can double check that she hasnt had any debts with that company before. Also to protect her account from people calling. Like a password. You have nothing to wory about. I think your mom just forgot if you have been a customer that long.
Also if you dont like them asking for a ssn put ur name as well as a password wil save time.

My guess is at one time your mother did give them her social security number.

No they will not give you any information because you are not the customer of that account your mother is. She will need to go in and add your name to her account. So you can speak on her behalf.

The company have no reason to hack into your bank account. And if it is bothering you that much. I would close that account and reopen a new account.

I would say that at some point your mother gave them her social security #. If you call the cable company, let your mother speak to them and verify to them that it is her that they are speaking to, and then have her tell them that she wants them to speak to you about her account, they should comply with that. I do this all the time for my parents, but they do have to speak with them innitially to verify to whom they are speaking and that it is okay to let you, their representative, talk to them about their account. Another option that others have already said is that your mother goes in to the cable company's office and adds you as a contact person and representative. Hope that helps.

I dont think its anything to worry about if youre sure youre actually talking to the cable company anyways...Just ask your mother to call and put your name as being able to speak about the account.

well....u can tell ur MOM to alk 2 Them...............They hav 2 Talk 2 Her .....Bcoz she is the customer.......Dont Wrry........4 Precautions u can Try Changing her Social Security Number....with Some1s help......................Or u can Sue the Cable Company if they Do somethin Wrong with the Accounts.

Your mom had to give them her number to get the cable in her name.
