I'm in the states with a cultural exchange program. My visa expires next december, but after that I would like to join the Navy, Army, Airforce or Marin Corpse as an officer. I have a degree from college and completed other courses. What should I do to get a job if I'm not a resident. Can they help me to get the visa or something? If not, what should I do?

Im a 26 year old professional Mother. I left my career and I am in school full time. I thought I would like waitressing and the money is great to keep the bills paid (over $500 wk) but I HATE it. I need to find a job ... OBVIOUSLY I will have my son in the best hands. My Mother will help somebody watch him... I just need to figure out a good career that I can make good money and work after 10:20 am and 12:20 am after I get out of school. I was thinking about the YMCA because my son could ride the bus there from school and then we could ride home together. Anybody have any other ideas?
PS - if I wasnt a mother... and I wasn't already concerned with childcare...I wouldn't be posting this message. I need a job that works with my schedule but makes great money.

I hate really long explanations, so here are just the bare bone details:
-My current job hasn't been treating myself or the other employees well at all
-I have a job offer making slightly more money
-The person I would be replacing is quitting next week and they need someone immediately

Do I just give a few days notice? (how rude)
or
Do I just take the other job?

I am trying to find a job in the legal/paralegal field in NYC...anyway, I'm terrible at Excel and math, lol. But I am great with verbal/written activities. How do I express to employers about my weaknesses - does it go somewhere on my resume or cover letter - if not where should I put this? I want employers to know this before I except a job that I'm not good at these skills. help me.

There was an e-mail about a job opportunity. It was from UK, so I know its a scam but I would like to know if anyone else has recieved it besides me? I went on the web link he supplied, but there was no link to careers, or job opportunities. Any info on that would help.

Im in college and just trying to get a basic low level part time job but I can't even get in the door for an interview. I've applied to several places and I'm very polite and professional and dress nice too. The managers seem very interested at first to almost hire me right on the spot. But after I fill out the application, they give me the runaround- dont return my phone calls/emails, make up lies as to why I havent gotten an interview yet until the position is finally filled, etc. It's all blatently obvious too but I dont understand whats going on. These are simple stupid jobs that anyone off the street could do and I'm a college student about to graduate soon. Im not a criminal, so the only thing I can think of is my past work history I worked a lot of under-the-table positions so they wouldn't show up on an employment check (what a joke, work is work), but I've also worked some valid jobs too. But would they check this before even giving me an interview?

Yesterday I found out the my boss is looking to hire someone else for my position and fire me. I confronted him about it and he said that he was "not sure yet". I told him that I would stay until they found someone else provided they give me a good reference. He told me that by a general rule they do not do references. Now...I know what you are thinking man you probably did something bad to get let go like this.. but the thing is I didnt. I show up for work do what I am supposed to do and go home. He says its "just not working out" Now I resentfully sit at my desk scowling at anyone who walks past. I am in charge of a big project that rolls out TOMORROW. Do I just leave and spend my time finding another job. Or do I sit here in misery until they fire me?

I have been interviewing for a position at work offering a good salary / package and great working enviourment.
This position has been really difficult to fill as while the role needs a good level of mixed skills, it is demanding.

I'm finding that most people coming for the interview only wish to have a 9-5 job and an easy life so do people these days want a career and put thier heart and soul into it or just an easy job to pay the bills ?

I was working at this job some time ago and had to take a emergency leave from the job... considering this is a nice job and the boss was good to me i let him know exactly what was going on and reassured myself a job upon my return. Just like that when i returned to the area the former boss (took a couple months) got me right back into the same posiition with same pay. (good bosses are hard to find :) )... so now heres the scoop, while i was waiting to return to this job i was filling out applications to other companies that had good advancement oppertunities ( something my current job isnt able to offer ex. better pay, more hours, benifiets, and paid schooling to advance where i would like to be) .i have a interview to set up and am not sure if i should break the news before/after i landed this job, give a 2 week notice (which could work for or against me). any ideas? not really for burning either bridge... options are always nice to have. thanks in advance.

Im in college right now and its not for me. I have no other skills than how to be a student; even at that I'm not good. I always manage to just get by in every aspect of my life; no matter how hard I try. In order to be have at successful life, you have to have some type of skill. The only skill worth mentioning that will get me anywhere is "just making it". Other than that, I'm out of luck. My options are: Just making it out of college, barely being able to pay off debts and rent, then basically living a stress filled life.- Not my style. I'd rather live as stress free as possible. Choice 2: Quit college and work at dead beat job all my life going nowhere.- I get bored easy and hate feeling trapped. So thats not going to happen. They only other choice to be a vagrant. A BUM. Is this my skill? Living off the land? Just barely making it? Even that choice is flawed because I would be "bettering" myself. I dont even know what im asking for anymore. Guess failing is my style.

I work over 60 hours a week and I am tired of it. I do not like my job and do not plan on teaching again. I would like to quit with 3-4 weeks notice.

Everywhere I look online, teachers keep saying to others who want to quit to "stick it out until the end of the year." I think that life is short and I don't want to wait until June. I am tired of being stressed all the time.

Other jobs, you can quit with notice without reprocussions. Why does it feel so hard to quit teaching? I feel like a bad person because I am on a contract and the kids may be affected. I feel that most wouldn't care (I teach high school). Why does teaching have to be so different when it comes to quitting?

Ok.. So i just started a new, great job. During the interviews and the job offer, my boss told me that there was no overtime. Now that I've been working for 2 weeks, I notice that alot of people work overtime and also work through their lunch. Alot of the reason i took this position was because of no overtime. I am very concerned... Should I ask my boss about this?

I found temp jobs, here and there but with no steady income, my credit has gone down. I found a job in a bank , but after checking my credit , the withdrew thier offer.I found a temp job , 27 miles one way from my house in June .They wont hire me full time coz they dont want to pay benefits.so I get $12 /hr.my husband makes $10/hr . I have had to suspend taxes from my check just to make ends meet. we have two cars , both need payments adding to $750/mth.our insurance has been suspended coz we cant pay for it. we lost health insurance when I lost my job.Today , the bank returned my rent check coz my furniture company made a payment electonically from my checking acc coz I was a few mths behind so all the money for rent is gone.my check for this week$400 is only half the rent.oh , and my tooth has hole & infection but with no insurance , cant go to the dentist

Long story but my husband asked for 2 days off for my sisters wedding out of state. Well he asked and they told him that they expected him to be there those two days. He is in the union, and does not have any time left to take off during the year. My question is what if they fire him when we get back, if we went. Would he be able to get unemployment. Obviousily this company doesn't care about family. So he is going to look for a new job! So do you think he would qualify for unemployment? Thanks!
