Hey,
I got interviewed for a job as an apparel sales associate/cashier. The lady that interviewed me told me to come back tomorrow.... She said that I will meet with the apparel manager tomorrow so I was just wondering does that mean I get the job or? THANKS!=]

I stopped work earlier this year because of a very serious episode of the mental illness I have battled for years. I am stable now and applying for a job.

For obvious reasons, I do not want to mention anything about my illness on the application or in the interview. It's none of their business, and it would prevent me from being considered for the job (I live in a small town that is still about 40 years behind society).

I am not a whackjob and I am very talented, but I am at a loss as to how to answer this question. "Personal reasons" is a HORRIBLE answer - way too vague. I've heard this from lots of HR people. How else can I answer?

My friend has a job as a tutor at my old tutoring place. He's 13 and gets paid $6/hr. I want to be a tutor and get the same pay becuase we are the same responsibility. I used to go there, but got in a lot of trouble, but she knows i can handle it. I have experience with kids by volunteering to be an assistant coach for lego robotics. So what is the best way to ask for a job?

Thanks in advance.

I live in Portland, Oregon, and I want to find a job that will use my skills and education. I have a Bachelor's degree in English (no snide comments or jokes, please) and I am willing to enter any field that can use my writing, editing, researching and communication skills, but I simply cannot find skilled positions to search through. Monster.com, Worksource.org, craigslist.com, yahoojobs -- they are filled with shady sounding "work from home; make $1000 a minute!" or "Macy's needs a sales associate" positions.

I currently work in an unskilled position with virtually no opportunity for advancement, and I want to know where and how to look for jobs for formally educated people who want an opportunity to grow.

I've only had one job that lasted for 3 weeks back when I was 15. It was a server in a retirement home that my mom pushed me into when I wasn't ready. I broke down crying almost every day and quit after about 3 weeks. I don't put it on job applications. I'm 17 and a senior in high school and I really need a job for a lot of things.
I've been applying for jobs since at least January or my junior year, and I've never even been called for an interview!
I've applied at Bealls, Publix, Target, Wal-Mart, Atlanta Bread Company, etc. Tons of clothing stores and super markets.
I can work pretty much any afternoon until night, and weekend mornings(I need the rest of day for school work)
I can't understand why no one wants me. I don't do drugs, don't drink, I'd always be polite and cheerful and follow all the rules. But for some reason everyone at my school seems to have a job but me.
Am I doing something wrong? I call back and ask about my application but I never get a response.

I work at JCP, and have four supervisors. I like three of them, but cannot stand one. She always is asking me to do things when I am already doing something else, she tells me clothing tables don't look good when I think they look fine and she's always on my *** about something. I want to keep working there but I don't know if I can seriously take anymore of her attitude. Please HELP!

Please, How can I stop crying.
I am working in a contract job and I just missed out on extending my contract - it went to someone else and I feel so stupid because I didn't ask for an extension earlier because I was down with cough and now they hired someone else and I can't stop crying!
I hate and don't like myself for making stupid mistakes like this, and although my former boss told me not to worrry and he'll see what he can do, and although I have written a petition letter to God and I earnestly and sincerely feel that I still want to work there and help others , I can't shake off the feeling that I am careless and i dont like myself for that.
I m wasting precious time and I m mentally and emotionally exhausted.
I have been working contract jobs ever since graduation because I am unable to get any good permanant jobs so far. it seems so easy for others to get great jobs but so hard for me. I can't understand why and I really wish that my contract could be extended.
pls help

I think it's wrong! they think that the employer wont care to ask but if they do, then what will they do?! they'll be stuck.. it's better to remain honest than make up fake experience if in reality little or no experience exists! dont you think?

I would like a nice cushy number, where I can work 9-5, Mon-Fri, not take work home, afford a decent quality of life and have my employer pay for my Masters degree. I want to work a field where there is a skills shortage, so that I can find work anywhere! I would like to avoid mega stress and long hours. Currently I see people breaking down all around. Worse than that is the insidious pressure which is turning young, intelligent women into bearded old spinsters.
I am talented, well travelled, educated (2:1), a fantastic communicator, organised and self motivated. I can give presentations, and develop resources. What shall I do?

Hi- tomorrow I am travelling all day from Devon to Edinburgh for a job interview. I will have one small sports bag with me. After the interview I will literally have to run like Jessie Owens to get the last train of the day home, so I need to leave literally like a shot from the interview (I mean really running).

Is it acceptable to an employer if an interviewee brings a small bag in to the interview or is it wise to see if I can leave it somewhere, at the risk of having to collect it and missing my train? The bag is the size of a small cat basket, give or take.

Thanks.

It is 1:18 am. I need to be at work at 6 am. I already HATE my job, and my performance has been suffering at work. As well as my attendance. I just got back from a 2 1/2 week medical leave of absence for my anxiety, on Oct 1st. I want to just call my manager, tell him I cannot come in, and that I am willing to face the consequences. I am hoping I do get fired, so I will be on a hunt for something new and not so draining and awful. I work at an inbound call center, for a wireless company.

I am 19 and am working a dead end job. I am also going to school full-time. I have only been at my job for three months, but I am SO tired of it! Since starting school about a month ago I have gotten so stressed out! It's Sunday night, and I can't sleep because I'm so worried about work tomorrow. Also, while I am doing alright in school I am not doing as well as I could be doing. I can afford to quit, and honestly I want to but there are a few things standing in my way.

1) I've only been there 3 months.
2) I just became eligible for health insurance. I don't want to sign up for it and then quit, and I also don't want to not have it.
3) I am worried that the social interaction that I get at school will not be enough to make up for the lack of interaction that I am currently getting from work.

If you have any suggestions please let me know! Thank you so much!

I have an overseas pharmacy degree and just finished MBA in Australia. I am looking to getting a 2 months customer service experience to have that feel of direct contact with a customer to provide the service.

I do some food deliveries but there is no much talking, just How are you and the price is:"

I was wondering about a shop in a mall. I applied already but was refused, I think mainly it is too good to have an MBA for shop assistant, isn't it.

Do you have any idea how to get the X-mas rush experience without scaring the employer away? I was honest that I wanted only 2 months, should I lie to want more?

I plan to get a real job in Feb/March 2008.

Here's the thing, I'll be working (honestly) ha in the electronics department and every once and awhile I'll catch something funny on the tv, and might stop what I'm doing for a few minutes - then I get a call from my manager from the security office - to go clean/straighten something up and stop standing around... He can't do that can he? I mean he can't write me up saying I was standing around, he wasn't there he seen me on a security camera, I mean what if was reading the back of a movie to see if it would be apropriate for a kid to watch for a customer and he seen me on there thinking I'm just checking out a movie - you know, what's my workplace privacy?
