I was a nurse for almost 30 years. I retired early as it took a toll on my health. Pros initially hands on contact Cons too much regulation, too much paperwork not enough time with patients, stress level too high. Would I do it again? Absolutely not, I'd become a wedding consultant or an interior decorator

I'm a computer operator. I love it. In a nutshell I monitor computer systems in a warehouse, and handle mostly minor issues.

My degree is in Computer Science. I'm qualified to be a programmer, but I like being an operator because it's not that challenging or stressful, and I still get paid handsomely. Lots of downtime too (I get to lame duck around and visit websites like this one). It's a good field to get into. To be a computer operator you don't even need a college degree. Community college or a specialized tech school certification would open doors for you.
