I have moved my current apartment on May 07. We have found some roaches when we have moved into this house. One tenant who was stayed downstairs vacated his house. One new tenant had a visit on that house and he found some roaches on that house. So he complient to the Manager. Later they came to my house and they did the exterminating process for roaches. Then I have got a notice from my apartment manager saying that " I am the responsible for all charges associated with exterminating my apartment, other apartments and the hallways of the building". Also he mentioned on that notice that "My filthiness has resulted in roaches going into downstairs apartments and in the hallways of the building".
Also I have heard from my upstairs tenant that the management office put 400$ charge for the same reason on June 07.

What can I do? Can I call the police to resolve this issue?

I need this info because I am planning to appeal my property tax amount. I bought my home in 2005 and it is obvious that the values have dropped since; but instead of dropping them, the assessors office, keep increasing them. I have contacted them and there is a form online that we can fill out if we want to appeal. But I have not been able to find a website that gives me info on comparable homes sold as far back as 2006. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's a upstairs/downstairs duplex. The downstairs unit has a side yard and a patio (the patio fenced on 3 sides, but allows access from the side yards). The items were on in the side yard.

I have been using Citizen's Bank for awhile and just recently got hit with a few overdraft fees while I was away at college.

I really dislike how they run this overdraft policy and want to find a new bank.

With all the hub-bub over the holidays I forgot to pay my Southern California Gas Company bill. They turned off the gas yesterday while I was at work. I went and paid the bill and called to have service reconnected. The Gas Company Representative informed me that they would not be able to turn the gas back on until thursday of the following week. I need to restore my heat. Considering that my bill is paid and the reconnect fee as well as deposit has been paid is there any reason that I cannot turn the gas back on myself?

I am a private person but I find that the number one problem that I have with co-workers is when they want to know about your personal life. There are things in my past that I don't want to disclose because they are painful. What is a diplomatic way of telling a co-worker to mind their own business?

I'm not on the loan (1098) but assumed all costs of the mortgage.
Based upon Reg § 1.163-1(b) I can claim mortgage interest on the loan eventhough I'm not on the loan.
Since selling the home a few years ago, I don't have my statements showing proof of payments.
If the person on the loan(1098) writes a letter and notorizes it stating that I've made on payments and is allowed to claim said deductions, would this be good enough.

i'm sick of my job, i haven't been showing up or giving my boss a heads up about my absence...and i hate making excuses, so i really dont want to deal with it anymore...
now if i keep not showing up.i'm assuming i will be fired, which is what i want, because i need unemployment for the next few months while i'm in school.
i just want to know how the whole firing process goes? such as paperwork il have to sign? or does he just simply tell me i'm fired and that's it?
i have an odd relationship with my boss, we dont connect, i despise him, he's phony and i could go on..i just want to leave the job without having any contact with him.
and how do i file for unemployment?

I have the hamster farm, sheers, thread and needles... LA streets are teeming with cheap illegal labor. What else do I need?

SIDE NOTE: I was going to put this in small business, but then I thought "Hey! Why think small?" So I am placing this in "Corporations"

I owe on a loan with my family that is not actually in my name, but I've agreed to share in it, my part has about $6k left at 9%.

Then I also have my own credit card, in my name, with $17k on it (past bad choices, but it's half what it used to be) at only 6%.

I've also been considering trying to save for a downpayment on a future home.

I have a bonus coming and can apply about $10k in the next 3 months to these goals.

If I go with the highest interest, the 9% loan, that saves me the most money, but does nothing to affect my credit score as it isn't even in my name, it's "off the grid".

The 6% card would seem to make the biggest credit score impact and would "feel good" to lower my "bad debt" (I could get it below 30% of the credit limit if I attack it) but it's the better rate of the two

Finally saving for down payment? Am I better off house buying with more cash or better credit?

Pay the 9% loan, the 6% card, or just save? Or balance of the three? Thanks.

I just withdrew money from my bank, mostly hundreds and went to go out to eat and come to find out the waitress said the 100 dollar bill I used to pay with was fake due to it not having a security strip. However it is an older 100 dollar bill, the 1969 series. My question is this, I have four one hundred dollar bills left and none of them have a security strip in them. Is it because they were printed in 1969 or are they fake if they dont have a security strip? Also any more suggestions as to where and/or how to figure out if it's fake would be nice.
