Is Monday time to buy some stocks that have been beaten down during the last quarter. Have institutions been selling their losers coming into the year end, and will they begin to buy them back in January, or as soon as the wash rule allows them to?

My husband and I are trying to straighten out our finances because we have a lot of debt (credit cards mostly) and we want to buy a house. Everyone tells us that getting a a debt consolidation loan will help because we can combine all of our debts into one monthly payment, but we kept getting turned down or offered a low amount because we have too much credit being used. What's the point of a debt consolidation loan if your too much in debt?

ok...I need some sound advice...I might be interested in selling my business (childcare centre). My company is doing quite well but I'm ready for a new challenge. As most independent business owners know....even thhough the day to day business runs independently (I have a great person in charge) there's still a load of work and responsibilities associated with it. I feel like everytime I try to take on something new (eg taking a class, volunteering at my kids school etc) I get sucked back it to the business (issues that arise, inspectors etc)
Do I just stick it out and make a decent salary (with loads of frings benefits) or do I sell? I've been at it for 12 years now and I'm not feeling fulfilled in business or in life.
What do you think?

I am a permanent employee in local government. I'm not a contractor. I am interested in training that will cost $2500. My government is small and stingy. They talk about things being expensive often. I feel like I would be asking for something that may be too expensive for them, however the girl in HR says I can just talk to my director or supervisor.
Now, can asking for training assistance do any harm in my relationship with my employer in case they decline?

So, me and my fiance have been purchasing his fathers house, as a gift of deed, for less than a third of the property price! (Lucky we know)! Basically its £170k and we're buying it for £50k, because he doesn't want it no more and cant afford the upkeep, and as my fiance is the only child, we said we'd take it off his hands for some cash.
Anyways we've been going through the motions for 18months and its a joke now. The valuer came around and told the mortgage company to put a rentention on the figure of 10k until both me and my partner got some odd jobs sorted out.
My question is this. How can a rentention be put in force against the seller, if it is us that are getting the work done? Surely it can only be put in place if we were getting it remortgaged? They're gonna keep 10k from the 50k until we've fixed it up! Its worth 3x the amount anyways!!!! Someone PLEASE PLEASE help us cos we're going out of our minds!!!!!

I sold my home in nevada and moved back to texas. The person who bought my home was suppose to move in and keep up the payments but just yesterday a neighbor called me here and said that someone has been living there for a few months but was not the person who bought the house. I called the bank that has the mortgage and he was suppose to keep up paying the mortgage but has not made any payments in seven months i knew nothing about because any notices go to the home ( we did not want the bank to know i did not live there ). I was able to get a telephone number of the person who lives there now and they claim they are renting to own but have not seen the person they are renting from in about 2 months after giving him $15,000 as a down payment.

I have been unable to call the person who bought it from me his phones have been disconnected.
The person who is living there claims they have received many letters from the bank but have just been sending them back

do i need a lawyer ?

Keep in mind, your health insurance premiums can't be deducted if they're taken out of your paycheck as pre-tax dollars. However, after-tax health insurance premiums are deductible, but they still are subject to a limitation of 7.5% of your AGI. If you're self-employed, you may deduct a portion of your health insurance premiums as an adjustment. The self-employed deductible portion is 100% in 2007.

The lease on 2 billboards on my property is up and I want to know what's a good rate to renegotiate. I'm located in Flint, MI next to US23.
The billboards measure 10' X 40' and 12' x 40'.
Any feed back would be highly appreciated.
