Does anyone know the minimum time that employers legally have to give between shifts for office workers?

Usually 11 hours.

We approached this subject at my work, having sometimes to work until 11pm and then again from 7am the next morning. The rule is that employers must give an AVERAGE of 11 hours between shifts.

In my case, my employer meets the requirement by giving me a break of 8 hours, follwoed by a break of at least 14 hours later in the week.

In PA it's 8 hours, but somehow employers get away with requiring you to be back at work in 6

There aren't any federal laws governing that. Some states might have laws that would apply in their state.

The only federal rules are for occupations like pilots and truck drivers, not office workers.
