I was going to check my account today, and I looked for my bank book in my room! I know I always put it in the second drawer in my desk! I searched everywhere for the goddamn thing, and I couldn't find it! I always keep it in the second drawer on the left!

I remember having left the back door open, once or twice! Could that be a possibility! God, I hope not!

Don't worry be happy. The checks aren't signed so if they do write and cash some it is the bank's problem. The worst that can happen to you is needing to close your account and open a new one. That can be messy but not too expensive. Call the bank and report the check book missing.
Search everywhere again, even coat pockets, finding it would be best.

Go to the bank where you maintain your account. Report that you have misplaced your passbook and after a diligent search you cannot find it.

The bank will probably ask you to submit a written report. Upon confirming your identity ( bring photo Ids ), the bank will close your old account and open a new one. You available balance will be transferred to a new account.

Happy Holidays !

Bank account numbers are on every check that isw written. Having your account number means nothing unless they have some ID with your name on it.

Just go to the bank and tell them you lost your bank book. Not really sure why you need it. You should get statements each month.

Notify bank immediately. Replacement book and history print out is easy to get. Consider online banking, direct deposit of paycheck or portion of paycheck. Online transaction are secure, and you have no book to lose. Personally have been banking online since 1995 with no problems. Now pay nothing for all online transactions.

If you're sure it's gone, try to remember the last check number you used so it can clear the bank.
Stop payment on all the remaining checks.
Get a new check book.
