I rent a 2bed/2bath apartment in Florida. It is 1300 a month.I lived in the same community in a 1bed/1bath apartment for 1050 for 18 months. My electricity bill for two people in 1/1 was around $80 with using AC. In my new apartment the last one was $300. The washer/dryer/microwave/refrigerator in the new apartment are quite old and they are they have the largest consumption of electricity. My lanlord say there's nothing wrong with the equipment and $250 electricity for three people in 2B/2B is normal. Legally, am I allowed to purchase new and more economical equipment if they don't want to change it and have him take their crap out and decrese my rent? Or how can I make him buy new ones?Thank you in advance

I truly enjoy people's company and the relaxed, more secure feeling I get by renting spare bdrms in my house. I'm a fun, young, and very easy going single landlady who's very flexible with deposit and rent pymnts.and try to suit payday or budget needs. But sometimes I get renters who find all sorts of excuses as to why their rent will be late, or sometimes why they are unable to even pay it at all! Of course they act like responsible people at first, but after they're all moved in, they turn into irresponsible, non rent paying, OK to move in girl/boy friend, could care less of others, type of person who suddenly thinks it's OK to take advantage of me because I am so nice and lenient, that they don't have to pay rent and can stay however long they legally, possibly can?
Just because I own a home and flexible with rent pymnts & house rules, they feel it's OK to do this to me? Any smart tricks or clever suggestions on how to boot 'em out before episodes like this even start?

Why would a homeowner's association (a non-profit) choose to file their federal returns under section 528 as opposed to section 277? What are the advantages? What are the disadvantages? Would the IRS website give me access to the tax code?

It has been in the making for about a year now that after my past supervisor left to become a CNA I would continue in her position. ( I work at Subway) Well now that I and another girl are in charge, I am getting a lot of crap from my former co-workers.
I feel it may be because I am either younger or the same age as all of the people I work with. But I have been there for three years, and the owners have already recognized that I am their best worker which led them to the decision to move me up.
Everyone argues with me, and talk crap about me now..I don't know how to handle it, it sends me home in a bad mood everyday now.

I've always been curious about this. I happen to have bad vision in one eye. Even with corrective lenses this eye doesn't meet the minimums for a CDL or to become a cop. Isn't this a form of discrimination, or some kind of selective discrimination? I mean, I see plenty of overweight or out of shape cops, short cops, etc. Who's to say that their "disability" isn't any worse than mine for that job?

Don't say "it's because you can't shoot" because I hunt and can shoot with the best of them. I also don't have trouble parking cars or judging distances. Your mind compensates for that in other ways (paying attention to shadows or moving your head around a little to judge depth, etc.). I just think it's discrimination. What do you think?

I got an interview with Motorola two weeks ago for a graphic design postion, the interview was great but I think I screwed up on the demo test. That position was one of the worst offers I ever saw in the industry. It's a swing shift that pays like $13.00 an hour with no holidays and medical benefits. Come on! I'm staying up late to design for your stupid website so people can see it in the morning, and it's only worth $13.00 with no benefit?

Anyway, I'm a recent graduate so I guess I would do it for a little while so I can put a large name on my resume. I sent them a thank you letter...no response. After a week, I sent them an email regarding to the hiring decision...no response. Why are they being such a jerk. You can tell me no, I can take it!!

I am immigrating to europe next year and would very much like to leave the US debt free. I have $47 thou in an IRA and $10 thou in debt. I will not be allowed to work for a year in my new residence country. IF I cash in the IRA how much is taken out up front and how much will I have to pay later?

Yes, I know this is a bad idea, but I feel strongly about being debt free and will have no income for a year.

It's the end of the year, and I've noticed that I've had more deducted from my check for 401K contributions than have been deposited into my 401K account. This may not be a problem (yet), but I would imagine the IRS allows only a certain amount of time for employers and/or plan administrators to make these deposits. I've already raised the question with the employer (so they can look into it and fix the problem), but I'd like to know how long I should normally wait before raising this concern with them again in the future. How long does my employer have between taking a 401K deduction from paycheck and depositing it into my 401K?

Blingo had me send them a tax form since it was over 600 dollars. I guess anything over 600 we need to get taxed on prizes.
so exactly, how much should i set aside? does it go into the same category as gambling winnings?

I make 45,000 a year before taxes. Im in CA and fed 1 and state 0. i was thinking of setting aside like 300 dollars. i thought it would be 28 percent of winnings or something. i hope not : (

also blingo is a legit site as I already got the prize through fed ex and its been on the news as a very reputable site.

A land in India (UP) is registered in the name of my brother, who paid half of the land price while the other half was paid by myself. I have 2 questions:
1) How can the ownership be split in 2 separate names?
2) If, on the other hand, the current single registry in one of the borther's name, is continued as is, what security measures can I (who's name does not appear on the registry) take in order to prove my ownership of half of the land.
We are real brothers and hence do not doubt each others' intentions, but in order to ascertain and prove my ownership, to any third party, without resorting to the fact of our blood ties, need your advise about what are the various ways this can be done.
