Today in the mail I received a letter from a credit card company. I thought it was probably another offer for a credit card and almost threw it into the trash. But, I opened it, it was a bill from a credit card company whom had sent me offers before. It was a new account in my name with on-line purchases in Austrailia the credit card limit was 1000.00 and the interest was almost 35%. So I immediately called the company. On the automated it ask for my SS# Well I thought to myself they should already have it and ignored the request. I finally reached customer service and she told me that I should call back on Monday morning and speak to the fraud department. Well it is Saturday evening. What should I do next? I sure hope there isn't more cards and lines of credit opened up in my name. Thanks in advance.

I remember reading that recently, but I still see signs up in stores that say you have to be purchasing over a certain dollar amount if you want to use your credit card.

Just wondering ...

Last year I disputed a utility account with a company outside the state I live in. i thought it was all taken care of since the updated credit report i received didn't have it on there. i just received a new report and there it is. The company confirmed with the landlord of that address that i did not live there, but that the deposit and first month's rent was written by "someone" other than tenant and it was returned NSF. The utility company thinks it was me (with no proof) and are still pinning the bill on me. I had filed a police report against the person who used my personal info, signed a notorized affidavit that it wasn't authorized by me, proved where I lived, and everything I was supposed to do (not to mention that this was one of three fraudulant accounts-the other 2 totaling over $800 came off immediately). They refuse to remove it. Now what do I do?

Another business posted a question on yahoo to discredit ours. It now appears in google searches and we have no right of reply. Is this fair, when we pride ourselves on customer service, have 100% feedback on ebay and will go to any lengths to satisfy customers.

I am a contracted employee required to take 40 hours of computer-related continuous education annually. However, my employer will not cover the expense, nor provide the training. Is this common practice, or even lawful?

Hi, i have not been able to find any good and thorough information on options. I was wondering if someone could tell me what Open interest is, how the whole option cycle thing works, what the net on the option quote means, and this is unrelated to options, but what is mark-to-market accounting
? like i'm getting millions of different definitions of it an it doesn't make sense because they said that Enron did this.

I've been in my current apartment for about 19 months and after the first year, the lease I signed went month to month. Now, after 19 months they want to start auto withdrawls of rent from every tennent now and I do not want to do this. Is it legal to implement this and force us to auto withdrawl when theres already a standing month to month lease that doesnt require this. I've also signed no new lease and I'm in Wisconsin if that helps.

I was able to get my sister hired at my office. work part time there (no benefits) and she was hired to work full time (with benefits). She took the job thinking her insurance would kick in automatically. When she got her paycheck, the insurance wasn't taken out. She was told that all employees have to wait 90 days for insurance. Now she has to find some type of insurance in the interim. I feel bad because she has some health issues. Is this policy common in the workplace?

I would very much prefer the $25K to go to a specific charity (in a form of a tax-deductible donation) rather than to vanish in the bottomless pocket of the IRS. Any idea if this would be possible? PLEASE DO ME A FAVOR AND ANSWER ONLY IF YOU KNOW. DO NOT GUESS.
