I pay $760/month. I make $52/HR. with over time and after taxes i bring home about $3800 every 2 weeks. I don't live in a luxurious apt and I like to pay off my student loans and my cc loans then i will buy my dream house.

How much you pay in rent depends on the area that you live in and how nice (or not nice) a place you want to live in.
Regarding rents - get a copy of the Apartment Finder for your area (or similar publication). You can call apartment complexes in your area to get an idea of what rent is.
As far as what we make - that will not help you. Donald Trump makes millions but that does not mean you can afford to live in Trump Towers.
You will have to base how much you spend on rent on what your salary is and what other expenses you have (car note, insurance, utilities, loans, credit cards etc.)

In general, you should make a minimum of 3 x rent in order to scrape by.
