who gets the money? Does this mean that the standard of programmes get even worse, because they have taken three million out of lisence payers money? Or, is this government money that is denied the BBC? I don't understand.

(In Ontario...)

I live with a roommate who I would like to have removed from the lease. She has broken the lease on many counts (failed to keep the place clean, paid rent late for no good reason, not to mention all the things she has done to me personally) and is completely disrespectful to everything and everyone. My question is, can she legally be evicted? She is only 17. Does she even have any legal rights on the lease as such? The other people who have signed the lease are myself and my mother. We feel that she is jeopardizing my situation living there and fear that we may be evicted if she continues this way. The landlord is holding my mother accountable for her actions right now and we do not want to be responsible for this child.

What options do I have?

I am currently assistant manager at my Mcdonalds, I am 20 years old and a full time college student. Last week the supervisor and owner came to have a meeting with me and asked me if I would like to fulfill the store manager role of one of their stores while attending school. They said they are willing to work around school, however the job would probably require 40 hours consistently. There is a significant pay increase, and they offered to pay for all my books through college. I put some hard thinking in it, and decided against it because at some point down the road, as my college career advances, I may not be able to put in the hours I do now. I need to tell him that I am declining his offer politely and professionally while not being ignored for future pay increases or recognition. Any suggestions?

I want to know how many of you are saving for your retirement...and if you have a pension fund do you think much to it? and do you invest in other things as well ...what is the best way to do this...
I have investments etc but have never set up a pension fund, but my dad is always nagging me to do it ... but I just think that pensions were better in his day (he is retired on the usual 50% final salary etc etc ) and I can't help but think they are a waste of time and other things are better to invest in... and also to be honest I don't really want to be tied down set amounts each month .. everyone knows how hard it is just to live these days ..

I will soon be moving to Louisville KY for a new job. It is a sales position that pays $45,000 + incentives, company truck, car insurance, gas, high speed internet, cell phone, land line...and all expenses on overnight travel.

My question is whether or not it is responsible to pay $1000/mo rent on a 2BR Loft on this pay. I know that I can afford it, Im just not sure how responsible it would really be. I am single but would like an office at home since I will pretty much be a road warrior. I would like to stay organized, but I could probably find a 2BR place for $800...but not as desirable.

I have a budget where I set it up, so i know it could work. I am justifying spending this much since so many of my other bills are covered.

I just dont want to get home from being on the road and hate the place Im living in.

Thanks for any tips or opinions...especially from road warriors.

We have purchased a new home and are ready to move in about three/four weeks. With the way the market is the builder threw in lots of upgrades. Well now the prices are a little lower than when we purchased the home. We can still back out (not like we would) and not lose any money. Do you think they would reduce the price more at this point? They've already reduced it 10K a few weeks ago but I think prices have fallen again. We live in CA so 10k isn't really a huge amount compared to the home price. Should I ask for more?

This is a residential area and there are woods behind my house. They are supposed to have a public hearing on this. I do not want the church to to built just behind my house because of the noise and the trees will be gone. Please let me know if there are any valid points I can bring up which can make them reconsider their decision.
Thanks.

I mean the ones where grown-@$$ men and women are dressed up like the sun, rainbow, burgers, vegetables, vitamins, etc., in big plush costumes. (I'm thinking Jimmy Dean, Burger King, Centrum, Juicy Juice...) I keep seeing this, and wonder if other people actually like those ads. I don't care for them, and I hope the trend goes away quickly, but how about y'all?

I live in Canada here, and I've travelled in the US. I can say that the US is a far superior country, Canada here is SO backward for business, it's like a third world country. Is this just a temporary thing?

When I was 18 I got into some trouble with credit cards, I am now 28, and I am still being harassed by creditors. I thought after five years of deliquency, those credit cards would not reflect on my credit report. Is there something I have to do to get those credit cards off my record? Maybe some kind of law?

Guys you know what? i feel i need talk to him about this issue. This morning he ask me to borrow money to him for gasoline, it wasn't lot money, but i don't feel right. Later i found out his bank statement shows 11 times over-drafted charges, two out of his 4 credit cards are charging over-limite and late fees. Plus together he got about $600 just for those penalty fees. He is screwing up!!we being living together about 3 months, is that too early to talk about these? or consider that is all his money and problems, should i just stop worrying too much and leave it alone. He is about 11 years older than me, i thought he knew about those better than i do. Bills should be paid on time, otherwise don't spend money to invite friends come to a expensive lunch, get a Iphone and purchase a $500 game station craps he never ever use. I am sure he will be in debt soon if he don't stop. How should i talk to him, will it embarance him?

I recently received a letter from the North Carolina Dept of revenue saying that I owe taxes for FY 2002. I sent them a copy of a transcript of my Federal 2002 taxes which showed a much lower amount of income than what NC dept of revenue shows. I thought state income taxes always went by what the IRS shows for income. What should I do next? I believe the state somehow made an error.
