You don't usually get paid for an internship.
You don't usually get college credit for on the job training.

If you are an intern you are not an employee. You are there for a short period of time. Some companies pay their intern and some don't. Usually interns don't get paid much though. On the job training meaning you are already an employee. But maybe you are new and it's your first job in that industry so they need to train you. Or maybe you have recently moved to a different department and they need to train you.

An internship is what you do to complete your study program, it is usually the determining factor in whether or not you graduate. On the job training is a combination of work and study.
